I found a '92 VR4 locally, the guy is asking a really good price. The only problem is that it's spun a rod bearing. I've rebuilt an engine before (I rebuilt my Dodge Stealth engine), but this will by my first time tackling a 4g63 if I decide to follow through with the purchase. I haven't looked at it in person yet, he's only sent me a few pictures. It doesn't have the original wheels, and he tells me that the transmission and interior and all of that are in good shape. I've read through the FAQ listed here with regards to purchasing a used DSM and the only thing they mentioned were the copper plug in the transfer case, the bearing problem that causes crank walk, and leaking capacitors in the ECU.
I was wondering if there is anything else I should look for when I go look at the car? Obviously, I can't start it and/or drive it so I'm somewhat limited as to what to look for.
Thanks in advance!
