Hey guys, this is my first post and it is about my recently purchased '92 VR4. Its a very neat car, with a few mods such as; Walbro 255 fuel pump, bigger injectors (not sure of the size), Metal headgasket, dump pipe, 3" pipe from turbo back, front mount intercooler, button clutch etc. So no major work, im looking to step it up a notch and get a bit more power. Im just wondering how I go about doing this? Where are the gains found? also I don't want to spend the world, however am aware that cars cost money! any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Cheers

Before you start modding the car, every member here will tell you to make sure your car is up to date on all required maintainance. 9 times out of 10, new guys can make the most gains by fixing maintance items that negatively effect performance. Checking for Boost leaks, verifying base timing, and installing a new set of properly gapped NGK spark plugs are just a few of the things that come to mind. Have you done any of the previous?

All to many times, the first thing people do is throw a boost controller on the car, and crank it up before giving the car any real attention. Then, they blow it up and bitch about how unreliable various 4G63 platforms are /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rofl.gif . Not saying this is you, but it happens often.

As far as mods go, you should start by finding out what injectors you actually have in the car. Without a complete mod list, it's hard to say were you can make gains. For example, what engine managment system are you using? Post up a simple, but comprehensive list of ALL modifications, and we can go from there.

Lastly, we like pictures here. Post up a few of your car. Welcome to the forum.

Is yours an Aus delivered fat bumper model or a Japanese import model?
