Thanks for the kind words man. No Blizzaks, I have a POS Kia for the salt. This car probably won't see much of the winter, least not when there's a bunch of salt on the roads. Maybe a few fun runs in the snow tho /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The fuel pump is a Denso OEM replacement, part # 951-0007. I'm having some issues with hard starts, but only after the car sits overnight. Any other time the car fires right up. As soon as it starts, it runs absolutely flawless. In fact, I've never seen a 4G63 that runs so well. At first, I thought it was a fuel problem. Now, I'm leaning toward a bad CTS or wiring to the CTS.

I've serviced, inspected, or replaced everything in the fuel system minus the FPR. I've swapped out the ECU and CAS with known good units as well. I'm going to do some testing as soon as I have time and see whether the CTS is the issue. I don't have the luxury of ECMlink on this turd...

I've seen that hard start before when fuel pressure is lost in the lines. The only thing left to replace is the radiator! Use toyota red coolant if you ever replace the rad.

I lost patience for sure after owning two gvr4s for several years, hence 503 going to a new owner. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rofl.gif

Car looks waaaaaay better. What you've done reminds me of what I did with my cars. I had one really nice one (1051) and one turdish one (503) that I did major improvements on to create a reliable, decent looking daily driver.

Gave 820 a bit of attention today. At this point, I've pretty much wrapped up all the little things it needed maintenance wise. The muffler was in desperate need of replacing. It had a nice size hole in it, which emitted a nice size exhaust leak. It looks and sounds much better now:

820 got some hand-me-down Evo 8 suspension today. 2 questions: Will DSM/Galant springs interchange with the Evo springs? Also, are you guys who are running the Evo suspension using camber plates up front? Seems like my camber is sitting a bit positive.

i used ingall camber bolts for an evo. i dont know about the KYB, but the bilsteins have larger bolts and i needed to drill the knuckles out regardless so i went that route as it was much much cheaper then plates.

820 got a few upgrades last weekend. I pulled the turbo to install a rebuilt Evo 3 16G. Turns out, the car already had an Evo 3 16G on it. I still installed the rebuilt unit, but at least I have a spare on the shelf now.

I also got the Innovate LC-1 installed as well. FYI, if you guys need to replace the sensors, just pick one up from AutoZone. You can pick one up brand new for $50 bucks. I was finding them listed for twice that in various places. The part number is 17014 click

Next, I threw in some Evo 560s and dialed in the MAF. Then, I set up ECMlink boost control with the stock BCS. It's one of the best features built into Link, IMO.

The car is running awesome, and It's a blast to drive. It's super tame compared to 1837, which is nice when you just want to jump in and drive. Next up is to throw in some colder plugs and turn up the boost a tad bit.

Well, a lot has happened with 820 since I last posted. Long story short, I had some issues with compression on cylinder #1, and one day the clutch just quit disengaging. So, pulled the motor and got to work giving 820 the business.

So, as I mentioned, I had low compression on cylinder #1. I wasn't sure what the issue was, but I suspected it may be a problem with the head or head gasket, as a wet compression test failed to bump the compression at all. Once I pulled the head, I found a ton of carbon buildup on one of the valves, which effectively kept it from completely closing. I was actually pretty stoked when I found this, since that meant my short block was good to reuse.

The short block looked great. The bores spec'd out good, and the crosshatching was looking nice as well. Aside from the dirt and knock sensor goo, it's mint.
