#418/2000 - 1991 Galant VR4 - no sunroof. Nile Black paint covered with Silver vinyl wrap.

Currently my daily driver & fun toy dragstrip project. It's still a work in progress, and needs lots of misc fixes and attention, but it's pretty quick and isn't JSB.

Some random photos:

The quickest time-slip I have (Island Dragway tore up my 10.9 slip as they were kicking me out for no roll-bar)...the difference being a solid 60' (probably like 1.625 on the 10.9 vs this 11.2 on a 1.816.

sloppy installation, but here is where the magic happens. Currently running an M10 nozzle with 100% methanol. It's the difference between 113mph trap @ 26psi with the knock sensor going nuts vs 35psi with nice datalog making 129mph passes.

Weight Loss: Estimated off prior "exact measured" weights from my last GVR4 build #139...this should be ballpark (also -35lb due to non-sunroof car)

Current Weight: (assuming ~4 gallons of fuel & no driver)
3050lb street trim - 17" wheels & street tires, full exhaust,
3010lb dragstrip trim - 15" wheels & Drag Slick
(each 15"wheel/slick is 30 pounds)

Parts removed entirely:
39.5 rear bumper support
39 spare tire/jack/tools/carpets
29.5 front bumper support
10-EST 4 wheel steering delete
10 -EST charcoal canister, intake brace, emmissions stuff
9 power antenna
8.5 remove front swaybar
8 rear bumper foam
6.5 remove balance shafts
3.5 exhaust heat shield
3 front and rear brake rotor shields

Total: weight loss from "un-needed" part removal

Parts modified/replaced that alter total weight:
-8.5 EST AGX/GC coilover suspension
*-40 MH Bias drag tires & 15" ARE wheels (10lb lighter than current street wheels per corner)
-10 chromoly flywheel
-8 non cruise control throttle cable
-5 plastic radiator fans
-5 Aluminum intercooler pipes
-4 89 Dash pad
------lb removed due to mods

+10lb meth kit (full bottle is 8lb)
+15lb larger FMIC core (gain from stock)
+7lb 17" wheels & tires (gain from stock wheels/tires)
+.5lb prothane engine mounts (heavier than stock rubber/steel)
------lb added due to mods:

"To-Do" list of weight loss:[*]-20lb manual seatbelts - not for the weight, but for the choking hazard!
Measured Weight TBD at Etown on the scale 10/22/16:
????lb with driver/helmet/laptop.
2960lb without driver/helmet. (driver is a plump ~230lb)

All weights listed in LB as measured on a mechanical shipping scale unless listed as EST = Estimated since I didn't have the actual part to weight.

Planned Future Modifications & Upcoming Projects: -

Stuff still on the "to-do" list for Fall/Winter '16-'17: Make it a nicer street car:
Fix non-functional windshield wipers and squirter washers.
Clean up trunk area, tidy up the meth install, and put the carpet/trim back in
Fix the rear pass window that gets stuck 1" from closing if you don't "help it" up the last 1"
Charge AC system and get that working
Window tint rear window (gotta have a tint shop do it properly)
Obtain a front windshield upper trim and get it to stay on at 130mph! (twice lost at dragstrip!)
Re-wrap the black on the taillights.
Vinyl work: needs race numbers instead of freaking shoe polish!
Paint wrap work on the bumper covers and ground effects
Interior details, change boost gauge and move to better location.
Buy a nice dual din bluetooth head unit.
shorten the cutback about 4" to get the muffler tips under the rear jdm bumper
Things that are in consideration for 2017:

contemplating smaller turbo like an Evo3 16g for better spool and not getting kick out of the dragstrip due to no roll bar.
contemplating a stock motor/cams (16g doesn't need a built motor)
custom oil/coolant catch cans (clean engine bay)
Swap to different wheels just for cosmetic reasons
Basically...the car is too fast, and I'd rather "De-Mod" the engine/turbo a little bit to have a more fun street car and get it to "only" run 11.50 on it's best pass, which I think is certainly possible on a 16g and it will spool like 2000rpm earlier!
