What do you guys get on spirited driving do you think for fuel economy? What about conservative pedal use? My forced induction cars I have owned have always done magnificent staying out of boost for fuel efficiency, so just wondering about these cars too. Modifications or not, doesn't matter, just wondering for either.

21 mpg for me no matter what I do....strangest thing! Could have something to do with the brick shape. I have gotta be the only person on here that gets 21 mpg whether they get on it or stay out of boost to try and get the maximum mph.

Between 20-23 no matter what. Last time I checked.

I can tell you that a full tank of city/town driving gets me about 200 miles. While a full tank of highway/interstate gets me about 300.

My best was ~28 driving from FL to IL on a e16g w/ 264 cams and a solid tune. 17-24 more typical, driving like they should be driven

My vr4 was getting a constant 14, while my base model SOHC gets about 34. I have no idea why it gets such crappy mileage either, I would be perfectly happy with the 21 that you guys are getting.

PTE 5857 and 1050 injectors, 18-20 around town. 22-24 on highway. I usually average 20-21 MPG overall. It's all in the tune. I have a little leaner cruise (if I had the taller 5th I'm sure I could stretch it further).

Not 100% what the actual MPG numbers are, but on my e16g i was around 225-230 a tank, and now untuned(save for my miniscule messing around)on the T67 i see between 298-315. I have noticed the less i floor it the more miles i get, but that makes sense considerriń this turbo flows about twice as much as the e16g.

I really wonder what these cars would do with some high tire pressure. I put the tires in my Camry up to 40psi cold. It's louder, and not a smooth, but the car appears to be getting better MPG than the tires at ~36psi.

I think I generally run my tires on the GVR-4 at 28-32 psi or something like that. I've never experimented with higher tire pressure. I'm going to look into pumping them way up for the next long drive I take.

The other thing that bites us is that most of us have relatively low compression engines. Stock is 7.8:1, and the high end is generally 9:1 for built motors. AND we are fighting the AWD drive train.

My mom's 2007 VW Passat 2.0 TFSI on the other hand gets 30-35mpg on the highway. Granted it is much newer, is FWD, has FSI, but I think the 10.5:1 compression helps a lot.

I get terrible city mileage in the winter. I'm lucky to get between 15mpg. In the summer I get around 20mpg. Road trips I can hit high 20's on e85(driving to shootout)

My average was 27mpg on a higher compression motor, 9-1, running a evo3 16g with supporting mods. we'll see what I get since dropping the compression on the new build, damn cali 91 piss water.

Highway, I always got about 28-30mpg on the VR4. Never cared to think about around town mpg.

You guys with the higher MPG are fortunate. I wounder what these cars could do with a taller 5th gear? I'd get rid of my Escort GT if I could get 35 mpg with a 4.10 final drive @ 67mph like I do in my Escort...however my Escort is EXPONENTIALLY more reliable.

Mine seems to get around 21-23mpg with a good mix of spirited and commute driving. I was getting just over 25 when breaking in a new clutch. My car needs a tune and is running pretty rich, I think I can do a lot better.

Just because I think it's funny, I get about 15mpg around town in my 2.6L Pajero. Can't wait to get 195/2000 back on the road - cage and all - so I can have a fuel efficient commuter again at 21mpg!

My results are with the evo 5th. I might be able to bust into the 30's with pump gas.

Kinda curious what kind of effect a properly setup cyclone intake manifold would have on MPG.

I get 310 miles per tank or what seems to be about 24mpg in the city. 16g and 1000cc injectors. I WOT and redline it multiple times per day. Tire pressures are 40psi. I think on the next tank I'll try to drive conservative and keep it under 3500rpm the entire time to see what difference it makes.
