Welcome aboard, like Nate said ignore all the "It's not a DSM" comments...

They are elitist who think the Galant is better because it was made in Japan. Meanwhile these same people have no issue swapping in DSM 5 lug hugs, 4 bolt rear ends, shifters, springs, 2g MAFs, transmissions, 4ws eliminations, and so on... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rofl.gif

all that crap is built in japan anyway and assembled on the POS DSM chassis here. The DSM is a POS because the body and interior are utter piles of sh*t, and that's what is built here, most of the rest of it is shipped from japan and assembled on the turd.

Yeah, because DSM's have a bad reputation from ripped seats and broken unibodies. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif

DSM's have bad reputations because of the parts shipped from Japan that came off the same assembly line or parts crate as every GVR4:
ecu caps
leaking valve stem seals & front case gaskets
timing belt failures from locking balance shafts
leaking & locking Xcases
grinding trans, bad clutch masters & clutchfork
flakey electronics that randomly die (CAS/coil/igniter/ISC/MAF)
alternators living in the worst environment possible
cracking turbine housings and manifolds w/ broken manifold studs

yeah...you know...all those things fail because they are bolted down to a turd DSM unibody by a union USA worker. And those things NEVER fail on a GVR4 unibody assembled in Japan by the masters. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rofl.gif

Everything that fails on a GVR4, fails because it's a mitsubishi. And a DSM is exactly the same thing and fails the same way for the same reason.

GTLuke is king of the Elitists and lives in a dilusional world where the magical powers of a Japan assembled unibody somehow makes all the "same-as-dsm" parts better.

Don't feel bad, and rust shouldn't be too big of a deal hopefully. I have had to deal with a lot of rust on the rear end and still have an ongoing adventure and refuse to give up on it.

Body shop says it'll take 2 weeks to get done...I should be riding shortly after the New Year!! Then the Mods will begin after I give it a good "shake down."
