I was told this is an Evo III fmic, but I believe it's a JDM Galant RS later model intercooler based off the measurements and appearance, can anyone confirm? I'm referencing an old thread on here with specs but a lot of the photos are missing. The core (not including endtanks/brackets or anything) measures 18.5" x 9" x 2.625" (470mm x 225mm x 66mm) and the ID on the piping is 2".

It's bigger than the intercooler that came with my rs front cut. Mine measures 8x16 3/4 x 2 3/4. It was a face-lift rs, but don't know if it was an evolution spec. Maybe yours is an evolution spec, which from my reading was 240hp

Thanks for the info, mine does look slightly bigger. I couldn't find any sort of part number on it anywhere like the normal MB#/MR#

One that appears the same as mine came up on YJA, it says it's from a Japanese 1992 VR-4 RS, the mitsubishi part number is intact (MD170074). Mine has the dimples on the endtanks like this one, unlike 004tsi's unit. The horizontal ribs line up exactly the same between mine and this unit on YJA.

I found this older discussion on here also which doesn't really match because it states the MD170074 is 205x470x65mm, but mine is 225x470x65mm. 205mm is 8", mine is clearly close to 9", basically 8.875

"because I'm bored at work and playing around with ASA, using the chassis number of my own '91 JDM VR-4 Evolution (with the 240PS engine), MD170074 is indeed the intercooler part number for the larger 205x470x65mm intercooler."
