Until recently my gay sat outside for months on end before getting any love from me . It was rained on , dusted over, craped over , and the only thing that it did to my engine bay was: 1) dirty the hell out of it and 2) make belts sqeak for the forst 20 seconds of startup. Then all good. It is a hole in your hood. Thats the bottom line. If you want a show quality engine then dont park it in the elements. If you daily your car then just accept the fact that your engine will get dirty and require more frequent cleaning. I personaly like the grundgy look of my engine bay, says its been used for what you built it for.

The vents on my 5.9 ZJ were functional (you could see the heat waves), but be better off getting repro's as they only made about 15k of them and oem's prob. $$$...but, they had an underside to deal with the elements....study how that was done and make your own setup, would be my advice though as not sure how the vents would look on a Galant.

I cut these vents off of a 86 Chrysler ES300.
And they are functional.

Not bad, I'd personally put them closer to the front. Props for finding new ways to do it.

Yeah closer to the front would be good so you don't fill your VC with water if it rains.

I was thinking 2 inches further back but it turns out to be in just the right spot, the water funnals off the back of the vents on the inside under the hood to the ground.

Might look good, but pretty spendy and not rain tray.
