I am going to get my vr4 back on the road but I have not started it in over a year. Any tips on what I should do when I try and start it this weekend? should i pull the coil wire and turn it over a few times to get the oil moved around in there? drain the gas? put stabil in the gas? Any tips would be nice so I dont mess anything up.

Change the oil, put fresh gas in her, and crank her over.

Probably going to need a new battery too.

I've also sprayed some oil in the cylinders just the make sure the friction between the rings and walls is lessened. That oil can reduce over time. This will also give you a bit better compression for that first start.
