Faded seat belt buckles

The seat belt buckles in the car were red once upon a time I guess, but now they are chalk white. Has anyone painted these things and if so what kind of paint did you use?

Did you take the buckles off of the seat or what? What color did you paint them if so?

Thanks

I tried hand painting with red enamel, worked okay but didn't look like new. Also tried black Krylon Fusion spray paint (made a big mask) which looked clean, and stealthy. Trick is to remove the oxidation I think. It took the paint well but in my case the texture was weird.

So did you paint all of the buckles black to match or just paint the faded ones? How did you mask?

Thanks
