Boost leak question

So I'm helping my cousin put his car back together and got to boost leak testing it the other day. I got it up to about 25 psi and sitting pretty steady. I we went through and got most of his leaks fixed. There's one left that's sitting at the AFPR adjust screw. As I was sitting in the driver seat making sure his gauge was reading correctly. I had him pull the air hose off the tester and his boost gauge needle dropped pretty darn fast back to 0. I thought it takes time for wait remaining air is still in the system?

If so "wow" we're really missing something.

You would have heard the air escaping somewhere. If you had the throttle open though, the pressure went through the valves that are open.
