I turned on my air for the first time in a long time the other day. I noticed it wasn't blowing very well and BM was humming.
I took it out and found awhole bunch of pink insulation in it.

Any idea's where it came from?

I did do my evap last year when I decided to get air working. Turned on air after removing insulation and it blows like it should. Of course I had pink crap coming out of vents for a min.

thanks Vinman

Mouse? They like to move in that part of the car.

Yeah I had a mouse move in to mine in the same spot while it was at a shop waiting for work once. Luckily I noticed the paper shavings (my glovebox receipts from the original owner /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif) from their nesting in there and put some poison nearby. The mechanics removed the corpses, which I think was a fair trade off since the car waited long enough for rodents to move in. They probably just dragged the pink insulation in there tho.

I dont think its mice. My car is garage kept. no mice ever seen in it. The blower motor sucked this in from somewhere. I just don't know where.

No. The blower did not suck that in from somewhere. There's not NEARLY enough suction generated from the blower to inhale something like that.

Just because you didn't SEE some pest/rodent, does not mean they've not found their way into your vehicle. My mom's car (years ago) had some squirrel get into it whilst it was parked away from the house. It chewed some wires and caused the car not to start.

Def, rodentia! I just pulled a similar mother-load of crap out of my a/c evap core. Was also blocking significant airflow. I still need to go through with a pic & clear the core fins. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif Not a fun job.

That black stuff......The black stuff in the pink stuff......Yeah that black stuff, it's called mouse crap. You have had mice in your car and that is were mice like to call home. If you still have things apart, clean them with Lysol or something like that. If there is mouse crap, there is mouse pee!

The mice poop kinda seals the deal that they were the culprits. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

There was another thread like this, everyone's verdict was to shoot them or pee on your car. I guess that thread may have involved larger rodents though.

I found a couple of leaves and some mouse turds on the driver's side floor mat of 1051 during winter once. I check the car once in a while during those months just in case. Little f***er went through the hole in the firewall where the speedo cable passes through. Mouse trap under the car with peanut butter put an end to that. Now I keep a trap in the garage just in case. Don't use poison. You don't want the little guy to die when he's in your car.

Could be from rodents..Who knows....That black stuff is some kind of foam from in the ac box. I looked at it and its not turds.
Maybe I had rodents in here when I got the shell 4 yrs ago. I never really ran the air until I fixed the compressor and evap last year and still didn't use air that much.

I had so many leaves in mine. It took me about 45 minutes with a air compressor to get rid of the majority of it.
