Bad ecu??

Ok guys, I have owned 1188 for about two years , and now it sounds like a subaru!! I replaced all plugs and wires, coilpacks for way too much. When I play with the ecu plugs , it almost dies. Anyone have a stock ecu I can plug in and see if that's my only problem? I sent it out through Shane and had it socketed, but put the stock chip back in. Any help would be appreciated. P.s. I really don't want to ho buy an igniton module just to try it. Thanks.

If you can move the plug on the ECU and have stall out issues, then that is where your first point of issue is. The plugs are known to build up some corrossion and create shorts. I do not remember which pin is the most common, but if you search you might find it.

After you figure the plug out, then you can move on to the sensors. You also need to see if it is fireing on 2 3 or 4 cylinders. If it is on 2 cylinders, then it is a possibility that it is your transistor. If it is 3, then it is not likely that and more possibly a fuel injector. If it is hitting on all four but just has a weak spark, then you are back to the transistor and coil pack being faulty.

Hope this helps.
