Okay. Just searched. Didn't really see what I was looking for.

<b>AC button</b>
First detent, amber illumination, "normal" compressor cycle
Second detent, green illumination, "high demand" compressor cycle
Three clicks to cycle back through to "OFF."

<b>The proposal</b>
Any thoughts on whether it's possible to just swap a couple wires on the back of the switch to reverse that?

<b>The reasoning</b>
I get in the car. It's fawking <i>hot</i>; like 150°. Do I want "normal" AC? No. I want everything it's got. I want 45°F air coming out of those vents as soon as possible. Easy, right? Double tap the button. <i>Done.</i> But then, once things get more comfortable, I'd like to get those 3mpg back, so it's time to step back to normal operation. Thing is, <i>now I have to turn the AC OFF to get back to normal.</i> That's three clicks just to turn it down. Then, once I've been cruising around with normal AC function, I pull into my driveway and have to cycle through MAX POWER before I turn the AC off.

Seems a bit backwards to me. SO, I'm thinking, if I could switch a couple pins at the switch connector, maybe it would work like <i>this:</i>
First detent: MAXIMUM AC POWER, ORANGE LIGHT to remind me I'm on full blast.
Second detent: Normal AC function, green light to remind me everything is functioning optimally.
Third detent: AC OFF.

I mean, think about it. Why should the AC button require two clicks or more every time you use it? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/idea.gif" alt="" />

Any thoughts?

Check the resistance before you go switching wires. should work fine but it may be that one side is stronger for a higher draw than the other.

Just think ow poor Dom feels when he has to push the ac button to turn on the nitrous JR. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rofl.gif

Yup, that should work. If you got crafty with the switch you could even switch the colors.

Brilliant Brian, I will be right behind you if this works. Heck I might even make the drive down the hill and let you do it! Be the Guinea Pig Brian.

LOL. You guys are funny. Next time out in the garage, I'll check the schematics and see if there are any clues.
