This is my new green 91 Galant VR4 I picked up last week to get up and running as my new daily. It needs a turbo and the wiring fixed. Along with a hand full of other odds and ends. Tonight I fixed up the engine bay harness that was shortened by someone and when I did get the car home it would not start or run, but now it starts.

Its the green on the other side of the race car.

Its kind of weird to see them next to each other.

The turbo is bad, so I will be swapping that out starting tonight. And I am putting power steering back in the car, well the pump was never removed but the AWS was taken out, so I just need to cap the lines going to the back of the car.

Stock, not much to see here

I looked in the car today and found the factory limited edition key chain.

Some body messed with the engine bay harness a little to much.

They were doing it wrong.

I have a Eprom ECU I will use to tune the car. I am going to put the china evo 3 16g on the car and getting it driving around, then I will put some work into swapping on the mutt level 1 I put on the moon taxi, back in the day, and supporting mods to make a fun daily.

It also has the cyclone dual runner manifold on it now, I will do some thinking on if I can make it work like it should, that would help power under the curve a lot, something the moon taxi has none of, could be fun.

It also has a 4 bolt rear end and a 5 lug swap and a small FMIC with some OK piping. We will see how this comes together in the next week or so.

I drove The car around a little tonight. Only to have that CAS go out once the car was up to temp. So I swapped a different one in. Also it might have a lower end knock from the #2 cylinder. I will put a few miles on the car to see what else is wrong. I will get some pics up later and a full list so far on what I have done.

Time for a small update.

Long story short the motor was junk, rod knock and leaks all over, a lot of blow by shot rings and valve seals. The clutch slipped and just about everything bangs or rattles.

So it now has the backup motor, twin disk, and ems from the race car in it.

At wg pressure with a 16g we are at 210hp/220tq.

There will be some changes and a small list of things to make it a good DD.

I will run the 16g till it lets go then a bigger turbo and upgrade the fuel and IC setup.

I did get 1100 miles on the car.

But now the knock off 16g is shot, it does not make much boost anymore. And with the race car needing a few things back to get up and running I picked up a set of PTE 780cc injectors, a Spec stage 3 clutch, the Mutt level 1 turbo I bought for my white car back in 2003-2004, a Evo 8 FMIC, and I will swap the cams, cam gears for stock units, and pull the shims out of the valve springs.

And I want to pick up a set of stock 2g wheels or something for the car, right now I am borrowing a set of rims and tires from a friend.

So the goal for the car is better drive ability, better MPG, and less bangs/rattles, and hook up the power steering again.

wow, this project turned out to be a disaster. I ended up with a Green car with a totally revamped engine bay harness and a fully built 2.0 motor with Wiseco pistons and Crower rods. A factory composite gasket and a Mutt level 1 turbo, about 380AWHP at 30psi, so when I run 15psi and make about 240AWHP I will be in good shape, for a DD.

I have been driving the car for a few weeks, finally. I have worked out a few bugs and still have some minor things here and there to make it a nice car to drive.

I have been working on the tune on pump gas and have the boost set to 17psi, feels quick enough. I am getting a set of snow tires to put on the steel wheels that came with the car, and I will pick up a set of 15" wheels to mount the drag radials I had on the race car the first 2 years and use them up.

I need to pick up a set of lower springs and good shocks at some point. I also want to get the power steering working again, just need to cap the AWS lines and mount the pump. Little by little, I might hit a dyno one of these days just to see what the numbers look like, 17psi I estimate 260awhp.

If you want you can always snag a 1g DSM steering rack that way the 4WS will get properly deleted. That's what I did with mine.
