Piecing together the last bits I need to install the calipers on my car. I got my brackets from a buddy, who got them from someone else, which means that the mounting hardware for them is long gone. I've found some 8.8 bolts in the appropriate size, but have access to grade 10.9 bolts as well. Would 8.8 bolts be safe enough to use in this application or would it be better to go with the 10.9's? I only ask because the 8.8's are locally available down the street, while 10.9 hardware would have to be ordered.

8.8s are basically like SAE grade 5, not so special. You could use them temporarily, but I would get better. Mitsu uses bolt rated "10" on the head, and while I don't remember exactly the tensile rating, that is more than just an 8.8.
