Here are some pics of my little adventure today.

There is a Porsche shop nextdoor to UMS and it appears that the guy who builds RWB Porsches was in town over the weekend converting cars. I decided to try and sit with the cool kids for a bit.

Car was on the dyno for 3 hours then I beat on it a bit before getting on the freeway and heading home in rush hour traffic. Besides the annoyance of a heavy clutch the car didn't over heat, stall, or have any issues what so ever on the 30 min drive home.

And of course the money shot.

Again, there are 0 title issues. The title is a free and clear AZ title ready to be signed over to whoever the new owner. I've said that once already in this thread.

Where'd you say that at prior to now?

Quoting boostedinaz:

I'm not sure what you are hoping for here. Are you wanting to be some super sluth that finds out #3 is actually a big POS and not the super nice car it actually is? I get that you are pals with Mike V and dislike Mike F but none of that takes away from how nice #3 is no matter how much you want it to.

The only thing I'm "hoping" for is that this car goes to a knowledgeable enthusiast who actually has the ability to appreciate and care for the platform.

The overall point of my questions are aimed at trying to figure out what shape this car is currently in. That's something a prospective buyer would want to know, yeah?

You say it's going to be a turn key car. Mike said it was a botched build with tons of crap wrong. You can't have it both ways, so I just want to know which it is, and if currently, all the issues have been corrected. All the threads outlining the issues with the car were deleted. If you've got a link to the thread you're talking about, I'd be interested to see it. I can only recall a few very serious issues with the car that stuck in my mind, hence a few of my very specific questions (that have gone unanswered for the most part). This thread is probably the only real update I've seen on the car since I've been a member here. It obviously performs now, which is a start at least. Let's get the rest of the details?

I've always advocated that overall, #3 was a nice car. There's no question in my mind that's true. But, if you start telling prospective buyers this is in "turn key" condition, it damn well better be. There are a million more Mike Fosters out there ready to buy "turn key" Galant VR-4 builds.

For your sake, I hope you're selective on your buyer. If not, you best be ready to deliver above and beyond on that turn key promise to another Mike Foster.

Heading back to the topic at hand the car made 451 AWHP this afternoon. I will post up a few pics and I'll try and figure out a way to get the video up here. All this will have to wait until tonight when the kiddos go to sleep.

I am very happy with those numbers and the car not only drives well but it pulls really hard.

Congratulation man....great numbers! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/applause.gif Must be fun driving the car now tuned.

My goal is to have around 400awhp for #1948, I think that plenty of power for a fun weekend car IMO.

Good looking numbers. What's the rundown of the mod list? I've read it before but not sure what's changed.

As far as "issues" with this car, most of it was Mike being very picking. Understandable so since he paid a pretty penny for a "turnkey" car. I wouldn't be happy either. Some of the things Mike listed needing were things like putting the interior back together. He was doing something that sounded unnecessary IMO and had the car pulled apart. I dont remember it being something that really needed fixing.
Fuel leak from the cell was the only thing that sounded like it really needed to be addressed. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Good luck with finishing it up and selling it!

The car was on the dyno for 3 hours total starting with drive-ability tuning then moving on to power pulls. I got videos of 6 different runs and I'm pretty sure in this video the car made 438. Final number for the day was 451 at the wheels.

#3 dyno pull

This will be my last response to you directly. You're simply busting my balls because I took a jab at Mike Vs car.

If you are so concerned with the story, condition, and future preservation of #3 then put your money where your keyboard is and make a real offer. Get me a letter from you financial institution showing availability of funds in the amount of at least 18K then I'll call you and personally tell you the entire saga of #3(bring popcorn it might take awhile). After I'm done with my tale of intrigue and deception we'll negotiate final purchase price and you can buy it. When you fly in to take ownership I'll pick you up in #3 with a perfect AZ title in my little brown hand. My email is [email protected]

As for the car right now, it's in my hands and I'm doing the work. When I'm done with the car and post a for sale add I will describe the car exactly as it sits then and there. I assure whomever buys it will get the same fantastic ride home from the airport I offered you.

All this aside, I'm not a regular here so I'm unfamiliar with this car. Do you have any basic specs on the build? Turbo, boost level, 2.0?, cams, intake? That 451awhp looks good but that lag is pretty serious.

For the most part its the same car listed here. Any changes will be small thing like valve cover, cam cover, etc..

click

Basically its a built 2.0, 272s, and an old school T3 60-1. 451 was at 30lbs.

Make an offer? On what? You've posted a hand full of details about the car to date, and have yet to answer most of the simple questions I asked (current tuning solution, status of the dicked up fuel tank, etc.). You'd have to pay me 18k to take a car that could potentially turn me into a crispy meat marshmallow. Catch my drift?

Typically, when people sell things, they disclose details on the item being sold before they start asking people to make offers. Yanno, because that's how selling sh*t works. You did say in this thread, you were just "trying to sell a nice car", right? I think I'm beginning to realize why you and Foster get along so well. You both seem to be confused about how the real world is supposed to work.

As I told you before in other threads, I don't give a sh*t about Mike's story and his woes with #3. I care about the car as it currently sits, as most potential buyers would. I'm no tire kicker, and when I say I will buy something it's not wishful thinking. Ask Anthony, or anyone else on the forum who's ever dealt with me on a big purchase. If you think I'm going to go through the trouble of moving 20k worth of funds to my bank account just to prove to you I'm a potential buyer, you're retarded. Especially when any dick off the street with a minimum wage job can walk into a plethora of financial institutions and get an unsecured personal loan for 20k without a dime in their pocket. I could understand the need to pre-qualify before test driving a Ferrari or a even a GT-R, but not to get a few basic details over the internet about a 20 year old shitbox. What a f***ing joke /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rofl.gif

It's cool, dude. I'll wait for the details in the comprehensive sale ad you promised.

Brett, these cars aren't sh*t boxes. Especially the really clean ones you see here. That's so offensive to the owners who put so much blood, sweat, and tears into making these cars what they truly are today, turds.

Sarcasm noted. If you want to truly see some really clean builds, go take a look at Nelson's 431 or James' 674. Those builds are the epitome of the term clean. For the new guys who want to know what an 18k VR-4 looks like, there you go.

Even given the beautiful examples above, I've yet to see a VR-4 I'd shell out 18k for, and I doubt I ever will. You may be able to buy Nelson's beautiful build for 18k, but as T-Negro pointed out, you'll never be able to purchase the blood, sweat, and tears that actually made the car what it is. Blood, sweat, and tears are what separate the true enthusiast from the wannabes, IMO...And that separation creates a gap that money alone can't bridge.

I hope the next owner of #3 is a true enthusiast. I really do.

Just picked up #3 from the detail shop and the car looks fantastic. All the minor swirl marks are gone and the paint looks like glass. Tomorrow I'm taking her out for some good photos so the timing couldn't have been any better.
