Ready to install the Walbro 255 and found this sh*t!The hanger is to rusted to use so I broke the fitting to hopfully save the hose. I then bead blasted the fitting and soaked it in PB blaster. Looks like the hose will be ok. Since the FP is toast I figured I would modify a 1g dsm hanger...

  15. Anyone else order Mangus cast manifold lately?

So I'm not an American because I say it's a well known standard that if I personally get a quote from my crankshaft manufacturer for 3 months and I don't see anything for ten? I'm not just pulling this out of my ass. This is the truth I'm sorry you can't understand and or are blinded from the...
  16. Unstable idle help. Oldskoolers and troubleshooters PLS.

Then it will be even Easyer to find the leak. Hook it to the throttle body flange. Or you can use a smoke tester and install it to one of the ports to the maf inlet tube. Remove the maf and plug the hole.
  17. Unstable idle help. Oldskoolers and troubleshooters PLS.

I would put it all back together and do a boost leak test. You WILL find a leak.
  18. BC Cams

If you don't see anything on the end closest to number 4 cyl I would say yes on the cam gear side.

  20. BC Cams

I would inspect the rocker for the same pitting. Looks like the heat treating didn't fair to well.
  21. BC Cams

Most cams will have ether a part number or the spec on the end of the cams. But no not going to be able to determin by the casting marks. It's like determining someones skin color by looking at said persons hand with a glove on it.
  22. Anyone else order Mangus cast manifold lately?

Sadly it's happening everywhere in production. We ordered 10 race cranks and it's been 10 months. They say we're next on the list. We have dealt with others and sadly that's how American facility's work. Very few are on time anymore.

  31. Any Flat Black GVR-4 s around here?

click This paint will oxidize like a normal gloss paint. It's meant to be flat or semi gloss flat. I prefer a nice gloss finish and feel if you spend all the time to making the body straight why not paint it gloss:) But I will be painting my 57 F 100 with hotrod flatz. But it's more accepted...

  41. Stripped valve cover bolts.

PearsVR4 I don't beleive I was trying to insult you. Mearly stating facts of what works and what is not nessisary. If you want to use RTV and antiseize on everything go ahead. And as far as my user name I purposely used it to weed out and find the tools that try to stoop to highschool tactics...
  42. Just saved a 91 vr4

Welcome I'm sure that's a very rare find on the islands
  43. Stripped valve cover bolts.

It's ok pearsvr4 lots of people claim to know what they are talking about. The difference is I have race proven results to back me. Also ARP lube is only recommended for arp hardware when applicable. One more thing the only time a bolt is required to use RTV is when it intrudes into a water...
  44. Stripped valve cover bolts.

Barnes I can see if someone wasn't sure on how tight to have the fitting then a torque wrench could help you. But over time you just get a feel for how tight is tight enough. (granted I say this for anything that is not a major engine component.
  45. Stripped valve cover bolts.

No I always go with the FSM in regards to torque specs, required sealants, exc.
  46. Stripped valve cover bolts.

Pearsvr4 Comming from a race car builder/fabricator. I have never used anti seize on AN fittings due to the chance of them loosening on track. I have seen several other racers that do and have had sealing issues due to the fitting loosening up. But the one thing that i do is clean any and all...
