Finally found one I had stashed. Found it in my work tool box.

Still looking for a knock sensor. Anyone?

    Engine stall, cranks, no start

It is a speed density car.I might have figured out the problem. Found some poor solder repairs near the engine module connector. I moved the harness around and found that just by doing so, 2 of the wires just broke. I installed the dsmlink module just for shits and giggles and it started...

    Engine stall, cranks, no start

I've been trying to get my Galant running for years now. It was running fine then one day it just stalled and it hasn't really run again since. It would try to spit and sputter but now it just turns over. It just fouls out spark plugs and floods the cylinders.I've checked injector pulse at...

    Crank/No Start

I've had this same issue you described for years now. I've replaced so many things including the engine. Used 2 different engine management system including dsmlink v3 and aem v2. Except mine wasn't a new build, it stalled and hasn't really started and ran normally for about 5 years now. The...

I'll try Advanced. Every parts store I've gone to hasn't had them available.

    WTB: 1g/gvr4 knock sensor

Every single one I found is coming from China. I'm trying not to wait a month or 2 to get one. If one doesn't turn up, I'll have to order a china bay sensor.

    WTB: 1g/gvr4 knock sensor

As the title states. Looking for a 1g style knock sensor in functional condition. I could've sworn I had 2 of them stashed away. I guess I stashed them too well, now I can't find them. They're apparently discontinued now.

Awesome customer service, lol. He went out to a junkyard in Dallas and found a obscure part that I had been trying to get for a little while now and had no chance in hell of finding where I live. I sent him money and moments later he shipped them to me. Awesome dude, great friend.

    Head Identification

Dsm 6 bolt heads have "2.0" cast into the head, 1g 7 bolt say "G6", 2g say "G6k" on early heads and "G6S" on later heads. As far as what the colt gt and evo's have cast on them, I'm not sure.

    30a Ignition Fuse Keeps Blowing

Ohm the mpi circuit to ground to see if its shorted. Start removing things till the short goes away. A simple dvom and a series of tests will tell you whats happening instead of blind guessing. Its like going golfing with no clubs or hunting with no weapon. You might get lucky, but it'll take...

There's something to be said about someone who wants it all in their car. Loads of power and ac, I completely dig it.

FS: ***ALL SOLD*** (90 dsm water pipe etc)

No problem. Glad I could help avoid confusion. Btw, nice parts, nice prices. Free bump.
  16. theevozero

FS: ***ALL SOLD*** (90 dsm water pipe etc)

FYI, that is not a non-turbo water pipe. A non-turbo water pipe doesn't have a turbo coolant feed fitting on it. This particular one is a 90 turbo water pipe. Due to the fact that it does have the coolant feed and does not have the nipple near the water pump for the water-oil cooler.

Welcome Mike. Glad you finally made it over to the dark side.

    Trying to find Turbo rebuild

Each part is balanced individually from the factory. As long as you aren't replacing any major components, you should be fine.

I appreciate the awesome feedback. The fact that were still in contact pretty much says it all. Even though it did take a while to get (seemed to be out of his control) he kept in contact with me and updated(even gave me his personal cell number). My patience is mostly due to the fact that...

Preparing to Shorten My Front Bumper Cover

The main ingredients I used were made by 3M. PN: 04240 is a 2 part plastic welder epoxy and its a semi rigid. I used this on the sheet metal and flat plastic pieces, to help hold it together and give it some rigidity. The other is PN: 05887 also a 2 part epoxy, this one is flexable and has a 24...

Preparing to Shorten My Front Bumper Cover

I just finished doing this to my front bumper and it turned out pretty good. I used some sort of body shop urethane epoxy(dont ask me what it is, my paint guy gave it to me), recycled fender, recycled bumper, rivets and body filler for blemished and sanding marks. The epoxy I used is very...

    GSX_TC's Galant VR4 Build Thread #550/2000 (Samara)

Its not out of pump. A single Walbro will take you to 500hp on e85. You have something else going on.Also, your boost issue kinda explains your weak torque curve. It makes max torque when max boost hits, then starts making power once it starts creeping.

    A/C related problem

Quoting FlyingEagle: What are the operating pressures? How much charge was installed (grams/ounces)?Was this an off the shelf bottle to AC system thing like RedTek?Or was a proper machine used, following evac and vacuum down period?Fan/s both operate properly when they are supposed to come...

no start issue...possibly due to cold weather

Quoting G: The sensors may be fine, but the connections and wiring are a whole other issue. This, those wires are usually pretty crispy. The starting issue you're describing sounds like a coolant temp sensor issue. I buy water tight spade connectors to replace those terminals, they work...

    FS: partout and parts

Quoting Gvr41415: are the strut bars the upper strut tower bars or lower strut bars?Front and rear. Lower???
  29. theevozero

    Crazy boost creep.

Till you expose more of the lower portion of the wastegate hole. There is quite a bit of meat there to cut from I wouldn't worry too much. I pretty much outlined what you need to remove.

Traded an old whore FP intake pipe, some couplers and a k&n air filter for some minty fresh back seats and some Galant brochure literature I can't read. I'm happy.

    Rear wheel bearing

I believe I either bought mine from JNZ or RockAuto. Got it right on the first try. I was able to handle the install without even taking the knuckle off of the car. The first time I took mine apart to install new bearings, I discovered that the hub had actually spun inside the bearing, causing...

Someone once asked me "Does your Subaru have a stage 2?". I nearly slapped the guy. But clearly he was retarded, so I didn't.
  34. theevozero

    Crazy boost creep.

Quoting Wookalar: Port that wastegate flapper hole and get a bigger flapper to cover the larger hole. Or go external gate.Or it may be possible you have some build up on the exhaust manifold flange mating surface to head, and you need to lay it on a sanding belt or have it milled so the...

FS: Ultra Racing Fender Braces ****SOLD*****

Because it isn't in the same location on a USDM Galant. Looks like it MIGHT get in the way. Regardless, he isn't selling a strut brace.
  37. theevozero

FS: Ultra Racing Fender Braces ****SOLD*****

It says "kit" then pictures all 3 pieces. Not 100% clear. Thank you for the clarification.

clickI assumed it was this. But since I'm getting flak, I guess its just the fender braces?

    WTB: GVR4 Dash Vents

Goooood luck with that. When I bought my car 6 years ago, it came with a new set of dash vents, still in the package. The PO told me what he had to go through to get them and the slow boat to China(Japan) they came on. Doubt it's gotten any better. Regardless, good luck with it. Putting them is...

    let's see your tint

Not real sure what the percentage of the tint is. It was on the car when I got it 6-7 years ago. You can't see into the back windows unless you're right up against the glass. The fronts aren't as dark, but pretty close.
  41. theevozero

    Crazy boost creep.

Quoting BluFalcon: Does the T/H housing have a larger flapper and a ported wastegate outlet? If its a standard OEM MHI turbine housing, boost creep can be an issue with an unmodifed turbine housing.Gonna have to agree with Ed on this one. I've had the exact same issue. Port the turbine...

FS: Ultra Racing Fender Braces ****SOLD*****

How does the top brace fit? I noticed that the brace is modelled on a RHD Galant and the washer bottle and cruise is in a different spot. It looks like it could interfer with the usdm washer bottle and cruise control.
  43. theevozero

    FS: Speed density set up

He means the sd setup. Considering you spend $100 for the sensor and plugs from ecm tuning. click Unless he's selling click Then its a fair price. But since the guy isn't defending himself, I'm assuming that the allegations are true.

How to: Make a 2-Step with an SAFC Controller.

I agree, pretty much every decent tuning solution will have an option for a 2 step. The safc is like playing in the sand box, kids. Admittedly, I had one up until a couple months ago, but I only used it to monitor.

Innovative mtxl vs aem wideband setup's... OPINIONS PLEASE!!!

Actually, I have the LC-1, not sure how much different it is than the one you're referring to, but does not have the same sensor. The answer to your question could have many possible answers. Such as quality of the sensor or maybe the Innovate delays in sending power to the sensor. If the sensor...

Innovative mtxl vs aem wideband setup's... OPINIONS PLEASE!!!

I have both and personally like the Innovate better. I am running an AEM EMS series 1 and for some reason, could not for the life of me get the logged reading from the AEM wideband to agree with the gauge. I did find that the gauge is always right though. The Innovate is a bit more difficult...
