I am mistaken. This is a nile black car.
  2. FS: 225 of 2k vr4. Nile Black 3000$ Oklahoma City

I am a 30 year DSMer active on DSMTuners. This is to help my best fried. He had a stroke several years ago and lacks the ability to finish the car. I helped take the engine and trans out. It's a Kensigton Grey car 225 of 2k 1991. The major machine work is done for a stock rebuild. All parts...
  3. WTB: 2g stock intake accordion hose

    I have a stock 2g intake pipe. 30$ shipped.
  4. FS: Helical Cut Oil Pump Gears

Quote: I'll bet to say his oil pump/front case came with helical gears and he has a 6 bolt, the oem gears for 6 bolts are straight cut and 7 bolts have helical. 6 Bolts could have helical gears also. Depends on the year.
  5. someone please show me where this big white magical diagnostics port is.

that is normal output when you have no codes. Output is long or short. What you are hearing is continous short output which is normal. If you had a code they would be output long/short one by one and then repeat. Kind of like morse code.
  6. someone please show me where this big white magical diagnostics port is.

They aren't all white. Yours is black next to the fuse box.
  7. NEMB INTRO Oklahoma 880/2000

I thought that was a different car. Bummer. I'm parting out the last of my Talon and I'm local.
  8. NEMB INTRO Oklahoma 880/2000

Hmm...wasn't the car I thought it was. Guess I missed that one. Is this the one that was in Norge?
  9. Big Tranny Problem

Why wouldn't you want it to be the problem? It's the easiest to fix. 10 min and a new bolt.
  10. Big Tranny Problem

One possibility, you're missing the bolt that goes through the block to the tranny from the tcase side. With a stiff clutch the tranny will move away from the block. You can screw up all sorts of stuff this way. I only mention this because you did. Fix it. If you're missing the dust cover the...
  11. SOLD! NEW! Centerforce Dual Friction (CFDF) Clutch DF536010

Sigh.....there is no awd or fwd clutch. They are the same. It's the flywheels that are different.
  12. 93 Eagle Summit Wagon AWD project

Leon tell me you're be in Ohio this year. If you sell that thing and don't call me first I'm going to hunt you down.
  13. Transmission Issue...

the tcase isnt still attachached is it?
  14. 4th bolt between engine and trans?

There was no reason you needed to do that. The factory bolt is smaller and fits through the block. I have no idea why that hole is threaded. Likely it used in another car. All the AWD are like this.
  15. Transfer Case

It leaked when you jacked it up because you moved fluid from somewhere. Possibly pooled up in the bottom of the bellhousing. That isn't motor oil, it's gear oil. You should have dropped the tcase by now. You're going to have to no matter what anyway. The problem should be plainly obvious at that...
  16. Transfer Case

You won't know where it's coming from until you pull that case off. Tcase has a seal as does the tcase output from the transmission. The input of the transmission has a seal also but I'd say that's less likely. Could also be a crack if something has gone wrong.
  17. How do the transfer cases handle different rear gears?

The transfer case doesn't care what you run but mitsubishi in their infinite wisdom did mix and match front, transfer and rear diffs depending on 5spd or auto and made an additional switch on 97 up dsm. I have no idea why they did this but they did. You must run a matched set of the three. 90-96...
  18. Bad axle?

Even if the recall wasn't done good luck getting it done now. Tcase is likely fried. They are so cheap now used get another one, fix any leaks and don't look back.
  19. Tachometer twitch

    connection at transistor possibly?
  20. Turbo bolts coming loose.

Are these oem bolts with the oem washer. The OEM washer is a belleville spring. There is no additional flat washer. There is a DOT oem and it faces up if I recall.
  21. Bad rebuild on my tranny?

You mentioned nothing about the pedal assembly. You do know these are known for failure?
  22. WTB: O2 housing with 38mm wastegate flange

I have one external dump. Not sure if it will fix your clearance issues but you're welcome to take a look. I had it on other forums for 125 I think. Pics on request.
  23. Leaking tranny, only so many options

It's possible but it sucks. You'll have to remove the shaft and the only way to do that is remove the end case and the vc. If you could manage getting the old seal out (not likely) you could do it with the shaft in place. These aren't the only seals either. Input shaft that goes into the clutch...
  24. WTB: 19C/18G/17C Turbo

I have a 19c turbo in Oklahoma. 7cm housing, no shaft play. I sent you a txt. 4055094999.Paul Lyons
  25. Drivers side trans oil seal

I assume you're talking about the axle seal. Hole at the bottom.
  26. can i start the car without my X-case connected?

Quote: Plus that input shaft bearing will be spinning without the needed lubricationThe input shaft is always lubricated. Neutral, in gear doesn't matter. What do you think is happening when you're at a stoplight in neutral? Input to the tranny is spinning. Nothing else is moving. If you...
  27. AWD Summit tranny parts in GVR4

Is the transmission a w5m31 or a w5m33? w5m33 should have many of the same internals.
  28. Oil return line gasket on 16g side

There are no crush washers on the turbo side, only the pan side. Use an oem gasket, call it good.
  29. Engine start problems

Here is a quick and dirty test. I've seen fuel injectors leak fuel pressure down so the system not only has to reprime one or more cylinders have a little bit of fuel in them at startup causing a mis, stumbling etc for the first few seconds after cold startup. A quick test could be one or more...
  30. trans ?

Let me guess, you have an AC delete. The bracket to the AC compressor is the spacer to the drivers side bearing. Yes you need it. You can bolt back on the ac bracket or order this spacer. MB297732
  31. Caps Request: Fuel pump housing gasket

I should've recognized the name. You of all people have no excuse for not downloading a copy. Lazy ass.
  32. Caps Request: Fuel pump housing gasket

The round gasket under the fuel pump assembly with 6 bolts? MB400461 Why don't you have caps/asa yourself?
  33. rear wheels dont spin??

Quote: , remove center diff and viscous coupling unitYou do not have to remove the center diff. You couldn't unless you removed alot of other stuff. Remove end case and viscous coupling. Also in the end case are the reverse synchro and wavy washer. Don't lose those. Don't lose the...
  34. Timing belt problem

I'll leave it to somebody else to look up. All I can find is my 97 book which says 2 revolutions. I actually haven't done it by the book in so long I don't remember. Point is you rotate the motor around until they all line up again then check protrusion. Manual also says wait 15 min before you...
  35. Timing belt problem

You guys are going to make me look it up. Is it six?
  36. Timing belt problem

The marks either line up or they don't. There is a sure fire way to make sure the belt is on correctly. Follow the specs in the factory service manual. Some parts can be skipped IF and ONLY IF you know what you're doing. You learn as you go. To me the most important parts are as followsOnce...
  37. Dripping oil from lower hydraulic tensioner bolt

Quote: Also when going to take my timing belt off I lined up all the tic marks and the two on the cams were squared and I had a retractable magnet in piston 1 and was at tdc and the oil pump sprocket was at 5 o clock instead of being lined up, and then when the crank sprocket and oil pump...
  38. slave cylinder pistons and springs?

There is more to it than that. Measure the diameter.
  39. Driverside Axle/bracket bearing question...

If I recall the bearing is symmetrical. Measure it. It wouldn't hurt to make sure the intermediate shaft is free of any light surface corrosion. It's been a long time since I've done one but isn't the shaft pressed into the bearing and the axle fits onto the shaft inside the housing? It's a...
  40. Quaife center diff HELP!

I'm curious why you think you would have to change your rear end ratio. Nothing in the gear sets or center diff will affect final drive. The only possible variables are front diff, rear diff and transfer case. I know a bunch of guys say run evo this, or run that. What I really want to know if...
  41. Damaged front front knuckle / 92 Talon knuckle fits??

And FWD are not the same. Only awd are the same. No I don't know the difference. Given there is a ride height difference I'd guess steering length/height. I would imagine they would interchange. What would it change? I don't know. You could always measure a set.
  42. Damaged front front knuckle / 92 Talon knuckle fits??

d27a and gvr4 are the same part numbers. Doesn't anybody use caps/asa? Very easy to cross reference.
  43. Quaife center diff HELP!

All of the part number changes are well documented in ASA/CAPS. There was a gear pitch change. 90-91 were different from 92 up. I do not know where the gvr4 split changes but I think it's the same. 91 is different than 92. Look it up. The difference is small. There are hash marks on the ring...
  44. Quaife center diff HELP!

You can't bolt in the wrong pitch. It won't go. It isn't hard to verify. You also can't change the ring gear on the center diff. If you want to swap them you have to change the intermediate shaft and 3rd gear. Likely they only built them for the later style pitch.
  45. 6bolt Crankwalk on a completely stock car. 167k miles

1000 possible causes I suppose. You are probably right. Maybe the old guy rode the clutch. Only think you can do without knowing the root cause is make sure there are no known causes present upon reassembly.
  46. 6bolt Crankwalk on a completely stock car. 167k miles

Here is where I was going with this. What does an extended clutch slave rod do? A slave is merely a tube with a piston in it. Nothing more. The piston can be moved at will provided the clutch master is working correctly. It is this very design that allows us to drive the cars and not have to...
  47. GGSX New Clutch, Clunk from Trans, slips but no clutch smell.

ggsx uses a w5m31. dsm and gvr4 use a w5m33 transmission. If you want to know what swaps get a copy of CAPS/ASA and compare. You said it slipped so he changed it. Was it towed home? On two wheels maybe?
  48. 6bolt Crankwalk on a completely stock car. 167k miles

Check the clutch hydraulic. If it isn't self adjusting something is wrong. Please tell me it doesn't have an extended clutch slave rod.
  49. More noob questions...fpr...afpr...

The regulator is on the feed line. The return comes out of it.
