  1. Re-Introducing 995/1000

I have a two step plan,Step 1: Bring car to my house Step 2: Finish car.Looks like I'm 50% done!*Note: I'm trying to add pictures, but I can't seem to do it. Did anything on how to upload images change? I'm under 2mB.
  2. Re-Introducing 995/1000

Quoting 4Grim: Welcome back..good to see you still have the Galant.I think a few of the old timers here have taken a hiatus.Damn, well I'm still glad the forum still seems to be alive! I can't stand the FB groups in general, nothing against the people but between the format and inability...
  3. Re-Introducing 995/1000

Shane!!!!All is great man!! The vr4 situation hasn't changed at all, so not much is new how about you man? Still in AZ?
  4. 4g67 NA rev cut @ 6000

Hey,Not sure if this will help, but I had a similiar issue on 995/1000 and it was due to the fact that the clutch switch was disconnected. The car thought the clutch was always pressed down, so at 6000rpm that was the "launch" control. I also had a keydiver chip in the car to do that, so I'm...
  5. Re-Introducing 995/1000

So, after years of the car sitting in a warehouse, I'm going to try and finally put humpty dumpty back together. Hopefully as I get momentum, I'll post the progress here. The build won't be fancy, but hopefully it'll actually end this time and I can continue to put miles on this car.I'll...
  6. East Coast MOD 2012

Quoting desant78: Ok all those who want to meet at woodbury txt me . We are aiming to meet at 830
  7. Bolt on GVR4 front mount intercoolers

I've used plenty of ebay cores, and they have done the job just fine for most drag racing/street applications.I'd make the argument that a quality core's performance will only be noticed by someone who road races, so WOT at 20 mins sessions. If the car isn't used in such an aggressive, long...
  8. F/S #282/1000 San Antonio, TX 3500obo

I've drove this car a few years ago during its journey from NY to texas. The car is accurately described. When it was put together, car looked great compared to the vr4's I've seen running. Also Tyler himself is a stand up guy, honest, and a Veteran who has done a lot for this country. I...
  9. The I hope to make "Turboren" proud build thrend.

I'd check rockauto or ebay. should be a pretty straight forward repair, good luck!
  10. Exhaust system options

Also check out synapse. They sell a variety of Helmholtz resonators.
  11. The I hope to make "Turboren" proud build thrend.

Damn, I guess it's definitely a 20 year old car!I've had the same issue with the DP, and my guess is that the braided metal holds in moisture with starts to eat at the flex part. If you want a new flex part welded in and don't know anyone local, hit me up!good luck!
  12. New Personal Best with 1837

    that's getting off lucky!!
  13. New Personal Best with 1837

Also Brett, if the car is going to sit for a while, make sure to clean out the fuel injectors before doing so. e85 is nasty when it just sits in your fuel injector for extended periods of time. Hope to see the car running soon!
  14. New Personal Best with 1837

Quoting turbowop: And if you drove it home like that, the viscous coupling in the trans is probably toast now.Does the VCU do anything or serve any purpose when the center diff is already welded? Just curious, because my understanding is that any effects of the VCU on the driveline are...
  15. New Personal Best with 1837

Brett, congrats on the improvement!! I can't wait to next season when you can really see what the car had! It's funny how you complained about the welded center, because I think that's the only reason you had such a smooth ride home!Anyway, sorry to hear about failure at the track, cant wait...
  16. Brake issues

OPWhen the brake seized, try cracking the bleeder on that wheel without having anyone touch the brakes. If fluid shoots out, and the wheel is no longer seized, this would confirm it is a flex line/ABS module issue.I'd replace the flex line ASAP if this is the case, and if then try the...
  17. WTB: intercooler kit

I believe I have an un-cut bumper support lying around, if interested I could make a kit for you. PM is if interested. Thanks for your time!
  18. New Owner of 1837/2000

Quoting ApexHunter: Nice work! J Pipe and overall length are excellent. Engine bay is really looking good now. Like how you kept the BOV out of sight. That was one of my favorite parts of the kit, how the BOV was kept hidden and still recirculated. It was a blast hanging out with Brett...
  19. Can't shift into gear.

Quoting strokin4dr: I've had a few cars with ACT clutches, my current VR4 included. Recently replaced the clutch master and slave. Stock length rod and good to go. Your problem is somewhere else. Extended rods are bandaids that mask the real issue.this scenario could be true, figured I'd...
  20. Can't shift into gear.

It was 4 years ago when I bought my ACT 2600 kit new, and I swear I had a small paper insert that said "extended slave required"I just did a quick search, and the vendors who sell the rod claim it is needed for the 2100 to 2600 ACT set ups due to poor disengagement issues.clickBut then...
  21. Can't shift into gear.

Quoting citymunky: Quoting transparentdsm: did you try messing around with the clutch pedal rod adjuster at all? i see no mention of it and that can change the engagement/disengagement point of the clutch.I did. However can't troubleshoot the problem anymore. My small 16g turbo is seized...
  22. building of a ggsx

Hey man, I just caught up on the whole.Very impressive build! Tons of hard work, and dedication. Glad the car is working, and it was great seeing it in person. After seeing the original pictures I realized the car you brought to MOD clearly had a TON of work.If you are ever in the...

  24. EAST COAST MOD -- October 3rd 2015

I'll be in attendance, but unfortunately my vr4 doesn't move on its own power so i'll be there in an plain-jane stock evo X.Also, CruiseWeek, which is 0ct 9-10-11 is the weekend to go to OCMD. H20 is now mostly a stance crowd. Cruise week is unreal HP driving down the street.
  25. Re-Introducing 995/1000

Hello Gvr4.orgIt's been a long time since I've posted here. Back in 2012, I bought 995/1000 and did what I thought at the time was a ton of work. You can see the old thread here First Time Build: 995/1000 It was really the first car I ever built, and it was in a friends pole barn with...
  26. Bulfab still around?

Hello yonwdLast month I bought that exact piece! I emailed them a bunch of times, and never got an answer. I paid (leap of faith, but I was running out of time) and a week or two later, I got an email with a tracking number. So 3 emails never answered, but a week after paying i got a...
  27. New GV4 Owner 900/2000 New Jersey

  28. Rattling on part throttle!

a few months ago we had a 1g come through our place, and it had a slight bearing failure. Car ran fine, but there was a constant "no good" noise coming from the motor. Pulling the oil pan, it was clear that metal shavings were present. Also, by inspecting the crank, #3 rod cap was starting to...
  29. WTB: arm rest lid/ front crash bar/ fog light setup

    i LOVE my boostx set.
  31. installing arp studs having issue.

+1 for pic. I did this too and don't really see how this could be a problem. The internet isn't always right, but one thing I've learned is that when you post a problem, and NO ONE else has ever had it, usually a sign that something is very, very wrong or simple to fix!

  35. East Coast MOD NJ 10/11/14

Quoting GSTwithPSI: What's the turnout for this year looking like, desant?Unfortunately, I'm not sure Usually since I'm so close to the venue I start about 2 months out posting and trying to get people to come out, usually only 3 or 4 respond, and then we meet another 3-4 people there...

  37. East Coast MOD NJ 10/11/14

Hello gvr4.orgI know it's a little late posting, but I am wonder if the vr4's will make a showing this year! I'll be there, been super busy with work so I haven't had a chance to make this thread earlier, but 995 will be making a showing.Like last year, if anyone wants to meet up at my...

clickI'm sure they'd ship. its a friend, and he is still trying to sell it.
  39. Cir-Clip really needed for Rear CV Axle Spline?

Hello Gvr4.orgI did a very stupid thing the past weekend, I was swapping in a auto LSD rear diff and performing a 4 bolt swap at the same time. When I went to install the CV axle into the diff, I must have went a little crooked (still not sure how this happened) but I bent the cir-clip that...
  40. Evo x turbo install now updated with 2.3 stroker build

This is great!! I was(am) going to do the very same thing! The e3 16g we use is old, this manifold opens up the possibilities to modern twin scroll turbos. I've wonder how a twin scroll 20g would perform, keep us posted!
  41. Someone Please Measure the AC Bracket thickness?

thanks guys, I didn't realize you had to only space out one side of the carrier. I'd rather not use washers, because I have more tube/bar stock lying around that would work. Rather not go out and buy washers when I can turn down an actual spacer for free.If anyone has one lying around and...
  42. Someone Please Measure the AC Bracket thickness?

Hello AllI am putting a vr4 together, and need to make a spacer for the driver side CV shaft to mount to the motor. The car does not have the AC bracket, and the only one I own is in my car.I was wondering if anyone could quickly measure the thickness of this mount where the CV shaft...
  43. coolant turbo feed line delete?

I welded the two spots on the water pipe. So far so good!
  44. Looking for a new clutch

I'm at a similiar power level, ACT 2600 set up, street disk, ACT Flywheel. I'm at 40k miles and no issues at all. So from personal expierence, ACT seems to work well. But I could just be the lucky one.
  45. Something's wrong loss major power/ vibration

My "subaru sound" came because I mounted the coil packs on the strut tower, and it had moved causing the bottom of the packs to short to the frame causing my all my problems. Good luck!
