It was good to meet you rich...
  2. - WTB/WTT: Galant VR4 -

Looking for a gvr4 shell/roller in the socal area. Doesn't have to be perfect, but I'd like it if it wasn't terribly dented. Text me at 909-659-6351. Thanks in advance...
  3. MOD Socal 2015

    I'm bummed I can't go. Stupid work.
  4. MOD Socal 2015

Is the stock MAF still working properly? If so, I'll offer 25 dollars.
  8. MOD 2014

I'm going to try to go this year. Depends on the work schedule, and the wife. Maybe 72 will be drivable by that time.
  9. Just an FYI, fuel filler tubes

Mine wore out in that same spot. Can't really complain, seeing as how these cars are 23 years old. Went to the dealer, ordered it and the next day picked it up. I didn't think anything of it at the time.
  10. curious about compression

91 is the norm here in california. Thanks for the swift reply!
  11. curious about compression

Before I go off and get myself into trouble, I wanted to ask you fine folks here a question. If I was to bump up the compression to 8:5 to 1 from the original 7:8, and kept everything else stock (turbo, cams, etc), what supporting mods would I need to make this work? I'm assuming some type of...
  12. Clear coat oxidation

that looks good compared to mine.
  13. mb505495 rediculous

Besides, the OEM stuff is pretty good quality. It lasted 20 years, so replace it with another and don't worry.
  14. Dripping oil from lower hydraulic tensioner bolt

Ugh, CARB = my headache whenever I look at my tractor.
  15. Cibie Super Oscar rally lights

Driggs will dig the look of this, I can already sense it...
  16. 503 has a semi-new vibration

    U-joints or carrier bearing.
  17. FS: New Blizzaks 235/45/17

Obviously us southern California kids don't know about snow tires.
  18. Curious: Flat Towing GVR4 w/ Another GVR4

I see Toyota trucks pulling other Toyota trucks all the time going south on 5. Legally, you should be fine if you put a tow bar in and light the rear of the towed vehicle (brake lights, turn signals). Don't push your car too hard climbing hills, be gentle. These are rally cars, not hd rigs.
  19. Vent circulation switch

    Mine does it at 75mph.
  20. (RESOLVED) CAR OVERHEATED..I PULLED THE HEAD..PICS

The excess pressure shouldn't cause your hoses to expand that much if it was just a water pump. However, forcing pressure (compression) into the cooling system would cause the hoses to expand. Or your hoses are twenty years old...
  21. motor pull

Yes, remove the pulleys. It doesn't look like it, but it will pay dividends when pulling the motor.
  22. Evo 8 cams in a 4G63

Damn, you make it sound easy. I have to look back into this now.... Gggrrrrrrr!
  23. max speed?

Got 72 to 135 once. Open road, middle of the desert. Kept it there for about five minutes or so. Felt good on a decent highway, a rarity for California. Got home to find it busted a hose clamp off a radiator hose. Other than that it liked to stay around 90 for the most part.
  24. just got the car back from kings performance orlando, florida

Ah, when I hear other vr4 problems I smile, as I realize that I'm not alone in my struggle to fight the good fight and get the galant back to tip top shape! I think you should put your car on jacks, pull front tires off, and go through suspension parts, bearings, etc... until everything looks as...
  25. Final product of the shortened USDM bumpers

Wow, very cool. It'll look super nice when it's done!
  26. Tease: Shortened Front USDM Bumper

Another mod I want to do!
  27. Painted Intercooler

    Maybe some paint thinner?
  28. so ive had my car for sale.

First, that thing is a land yacht. Second, I got married for 130$. 5.5 years later and no regrets. Nice truck.
  29. 1st engine build.

Water pumps are like 30 or so. Cheap enough that you should replace it and not worry about it. One less thing to worry about, right?
  30. engine harness

I might buy one. On the other hand, I'm seriously considering making my own with the intention of tucking the harness for a cleaner look. This weekend I'll try to take some pics and post them so everyone can see how much of a project I have on my hands. This is going to be a big favor to ask...
  31. FS: DONE

Condition of the harness please! And how much to ship to 93555?
  32. engine harness

Does anyone make a "new" engine/wiring harness for the gvr4? After doing the engine and trans swap on 72/2000, i have come to realize that the P.O. hacked the life out of it. Im not the best when it comes to wiring or electronics for that matter, hence my asking for a new harness. Time really...
  33. Not sure about this

I was gonna do that, but I got the proper xcase on the way. However, I want to thank you guys for the advice. I didn't even think about a come a long. I'm gonna pick one up just to keep it handy. Thanks again all!
  34. I'm a new guy!

What are your future plans for the car?
  35. EVO Brake Caliper Bracket - Gone?

Some of us don't have the time or means to fabricate such things. I would much rather pay someone who is willing to do the R&D that goes into a project like this. I wouldn't trust someone who just slaps things together and says "it'll be cheaper than so and so". Especially when it comes to...
  36. Not sure about this

I was gonna completely remove the drive shaft. I literally want to move it like 20 feet, just to back it onto a trailer. I don't trust those dollies so much.
  37. Not sure about this

If I remove the xcase and driveshaft, would the car be able to move under it's own power, just fwd? Want to put it on a trailer, and transport it, but I don't have the correct xcase I need after an engine and tranny swap.
  38. Mitsubishi Owners Day 2011 July 9th (Cypress, California)

next time youre in ridgecrest let me know!
  39. FS: Partout: 92 Eagle Talon TSi AWD 5-speed

    Spline count on the xcase?
  40. Engine ReBuild

There's a rubber o ring type deal that goes on the end of the sensor.
  41. Mitsubishi Owners Day 2011 July 9th (Cypress, California)

If I go it won't be in my mitsu. 2.8 million issues with damn thing, so boo for me.
  42. Trans/Block bolts

Damn I was gonna ask about these bolts tomorrow too. Someone else beat me to it.
  43. engine swaps ...

It bolts right up, I swear!
  44. engine swaps ...

    Why not a bi-turbo v12? A real amg...
  45. Mitsubishi Owners Day 2011 July 9th (Cypress, California)

Screw it, my paint is shot too. It'll be a rattle can partay!
  46. Need source for NACA ducts

I agree that it's good looking. Now I'm gonna start looking at this as another project!
  47. Mitsubishi Owners Day 2011 July 9th (Cypress, California)

My dent is in the exact same spot, although it's not as bad.
