  6. Build thread for 504/1000

So, after a six month break from you guys I have found some time to update my build thread. I have been busy! I have replaced all of my wheel bearings and seals, cleaned up all of the spindles, replaced every bushing in the rear, replaced both steering boots, tie rod ends, and replaced every...
  7. jnava

Has every random part ever, and always packs and ships quickly. Eight thousand layers of padding on my valve cover...I actually hate him for that. Also this post is super overdue. K thanks Juan!
  8. Build thread for 504/1000

Yeah, the corolla is just an econobox daily. Being in the navy, I have a pretty crappy schedule for the next year, and decided that instead of having a great car sit in a parking lot or on the pier, I would rather save up some cash and buy something awesome when I get back from deployment.I...

  12. Quick release injector plugs

Scotch locks, or Vampire clips as I like to call them are never a great idea, but they can be useful in a pinch. I like to solder when possible, and use some nice crimps with heat shrink as part of the covering otherwise.

Coming from someone who put a crap ton of money into a car that ended up not being worth it due to rust...Stop now. Find a better shell. Play with this one, maybe daily it, but don't waste your money on a heartbreak unless you plan to go over the entire body and every panel. You will regret it...

  27. engine mounts

I have prothanes all the way around, and my hood rattles, my grille rattles, but my dash does not. I have them cranked down nice and tight and put a few minutes into adjusting the hood and grille, and thus far its not too bad. Bottom line is if you don't want any rattling, then deal with a...
  28. Driving with driveshaft out

Quoting EHmotorsports: you will still ruin the VCU and center diff removing the transfer case. DO NOT move the car without a welded center diff or a VCU lockout.Oh yeah haha...that whole diff in the trans thing...
  29. Driving with driveshaft out

You could pull the transfer case I suppose? I mean if the shaft is already out, it's only 5 bolts...
  30. Still having Clutch issues...

Yeah, I remember that argument I think I read the whole thing and maybe even posted in it. I am hoping that I (or you) can figure this whole thing out. I don't want to kill my synchros, and I want my clutch pedal to be off of the floor. I am at a loss as to what else we can do. Hopefully we can...
  31. Slowboy Racing (Built 4g63)

Update with my Slowboy head. I sent a PDF file including pictures, invoices and everything else I had for the head to Slowboy this morning after speaking with Mike on the phone. 32. WTB: wheel bearings + seals

I will figure out a price when I get to work. I have all the stuff there. PM me with your Phone Number and I will text you the details.
  33. Still having Clutch issues...

Ahhhh gotcha. I almost want to try going back to stock clutch just to see if that truly does fix the issue. That is not likely to happen though, so for now I will assume my pedal is probably the issue and try having it rebuilt/rewelded.
  34. Still having Clutch issues...

I understand the dynamics of the fluid based system, but using the stock parts, it makes no sense that my clutch pedal is so low when engaging and disengaging. I know there is a member here who used a 3KGT slave and had some marginal improvement...Don't know if that is what I want to try next or...
  35. WTB: wheel bearings + seals

Yotes, I have a set of fronts here Timken bearings...which I would say are as good as stock. Don't remember who manufactures the seals.
  36. Still having Clutch issues...

Quoting cupajoe: I would adjust in it a bit and check for slop. If no slop, bleed it in that config where there is atleast a .25-.50" threat left. Then once its bled re-adjust it out.I am going to do this. Thanks!
  37. Still having Clutch issues...

Quoting Mitsu_tuner7: I noticed when replacing my master with a oem from jnz. That when I took out my old one it was almost all the way out and I thought it was strange. But then I opened the box to the new one and it to was just about all the way out. I installed and actually had to turn it out...

  39. Can we have a new rule?

As far as personal attacks...I guess you are right, there has been a lot lately, but in reality we are still a very mature and intelligent group. I don't think that the trolling is a new thing here though. It is just more front page lately. Furthermore, I feel like us calling people out on their...
  40. Still having Clutch issues...

Quoting G: You sure it's all the way out? They like to rotate out of adjustment when driving if the nut is not tight.I'm literally at the end of the post...but I feel like I shouldn't have to be that close to the end just to get some pedal right? Shouldn't I be maybe like halfway down or...
  41. Still having Clutch issues...

The master rod is literally on the last threads. I don't feel any slop right now, but I guess I need to move it in and then feel for slop. sorry for the crappy photo its hard to take a picture with my I-potato while cramped under the dash...
  42. Still having Clutch issues...

So, for those of you who don't know me/my car, I have jumped through almost every hoop to fix my clutch issues. The clutch disengages wayyyyy too close to the floor and it bugs the crap out of me...Consequently it's also a good way to destroy synchros. So, I have replaced all of the easier to...
  43. Common cause of inner timing belt wear [Resolved]

Correct. The wear seems to have stopped. I am pretty confident that I had bent the backing plate for the crank gear and that had caused my issue. I am gonna mark this as resolved. Thanks for all the help guys!!!
