  1. Aftermarket fan won’t turn on

Any chance you could post a picture with both side of the connector visible so we can see all the wire colors. Trying to figure out how you wired it up.
  2. NateCrisman

Got a set of cams from Nate, they came extremely well packaged, and he was willing to work with me on shipping. Great guy, the fact that he has 3 pages in the "good guys" section tells you all you need to know.
  3. Bad Computer?

swapped the temp sensor with a known working one and nothing changed. I think I'm going to try to send the ECU to ecmlink and see if everything is working. Thanks for your input guys, and if you have any other idea's let me know.
  4. Bad Computer?

been having some issues with the galant recently, started off running rough. few days later I can crank and crank and the engine won't even fire. I'm getting air, fuel and spark, and compression is good. pulled the computer out and found this, thoughts?
  5. WTB: Holset HX35

Looking for a used Holset HX35 turbocharger, I know someone has one laying around. I don't care if its the 7 or 8 blade compressor, just needs to have the factory turbine housing and wastegate. Thanks. note: pics are always nice.
  6. How hard is it to go 5lug on a vr4?

No none of the VR4's came with a factory 5 lug, you can swap it from a most dsm's. And from what I've seen and heard its not that difficult, but I personally have not done it, Maybe one of you guys that have could chime in with the particulars.
  7. Can't shift into gear.

Had the same problem not long ago on 898. Installed a new southbend clutch disc and PP, replaced the flywheel surface on my spec flywheel and could not get the car into gear while running just like your problem. I ended up pulling the trans back out and comparing the flywheel step of the...
  8. Total amp draw (stock)

So this past year I installed a LED light bar on my VR4, (don't worry I didn't just screw it to front bumper) seeing how most of my driving is done in the dark on back roads by myself. I have found the light bar to be a huge benefit. But like anything once we have something we want more of it:)...
  9. FS: South Bend Clutch

price drop to $350, or make me a offer. This is still collecting dust.
  10. FS: Magnus street intake big port 1g manifold

What throttle body is this flanged for?
  11. bobdole

Got a rear sway bar from Charles and was very impressed with how he deals with his customers. He gave me what I feel was a very fair price and was very prompt on shipping it to me. He has my future business. Thanks Charles.
  12. WTB: Manual seat belt conversion

Finally had about enough of the automatic seat belts, Looking for a complete conversion, seat belts, trim etc... let me know what you have and we'll work something out. I'll take care of shipping. Thanks
  13. FS: South Bend Clutch

Well, in all honesty how much would you ask?
  14. FS: South Bend Clutch

Clutch has approximately 32 miles on it and about 20 engagements, I just couldn't get it to work. Here is a link to the thread of what I was dealing with. click I decided to just go with what I was using before. According to South Bend there is nothing wrong with it, I looked it over and can't...
  15. Clutch won't fully disengage

Checked the pedal by pushing it to the floor and then trying to pull it up with my foot, no slop at all. And Mark slave cylinder is 3/4 bore.
  16. Clutch won't fully disengage

I checked the condition of the clutch bushings and I adjusted the clutch assembly, Which didn't make any noticeable difference.
  17. Clutch won't fully disengage

Flywheel step is within spec (.610 to be exact) thanks for mentioning that.
  18. Clutch won't fully disengage

Update: Well the car is still jsb while I workout the clutch issue,But this did give me an opportunity to finally scrub most of the road grime off the transmissionAt this point I'm leaning towards ordering a different clutch since I've been unsuccessful at getting the Southbend to...
  19. Clutch won't fully disengage

Nope every worked perfectly until I installed this clutch.
  20. Clutch won't fully disengage

So after determining that I was getting all the throw possible from the clutch system, I finally gave into the inevitable and pulled the transmission again, (only took 2hrs this time, I'm getting faster ) upon close inspection of the clutch fork, throwout bearing and transmission splines...
  21. Clutch won't fully disengage

Update: Okay so I've installed a new slave cylinder, master cylinder and I'm confident I have all the air out of the system. Clutch fork isn't bottoming out on anything and clutch pedal assembly is in good shape. Is there anything else I should look for?
  22. Clutch won't fully disengage

So I just installed a kevlar/ceramic South Bend clutch in my car, with the included 2700PP. I'm using a SPEC aluminum flywheel which I just replaced the bolt on friction surface. The problem is the clutch won't completely let go of the flywheel/pressure plate. I have bled the clutch system more...
  23. Should I try a different clutch?

Well I finally decided on the TMZ kevlar/ceramic dual friction clutch. However, I've been looking for a replacement friction surface for my SPEC flywheel with no luck at all. Anyone know where I might find one?
  24. Should I try a different clutch?

Okay, so the twin disk is out. The TMZ looks like a good choice, but I also like the centerforce dual friction idea, hmmm...
  25. Should I try a different clutch?

So it sounds like I should be looking for a sprung full face disc, with a high clamp force pp. Not sure about a 6 puck, I've never had any experience with them. How much harsher are they compared to a full face in terms of engagement, chatter and streetablity?
  26. Should I try a different clutch?

As the title states I'm currently looking to replace my clutch in my daily driver which has begun to slip under full power. I'm presently using a spec stage 3+ full disc and included pp, I've had it in the car about 3 years and its done a superb job of handling the 350ish horsepower that the...
  27. FS: Hood Struts GVR4

Got mine in a few days ago, and they seem to work just fine in 10 degree weather.
  28. Tune up time

While your at it pull the upper timing cover off and check your timing belt, make sure it's still in good shape. Just a little more peace of mind.
  29. FS: Hood Struts GVR4

    Any updates?
  30. Cometic HP retorque?

I know its a 12pt nut, and I think its a 14mm but not positive on that. Could be SAE too for that matter.
  31. Installed the HX35 this weekend

Yeah I'm thinking that some t-bolt clamps would be a good idea. Also going to weld some beads onto the pipe this weekend so it won't pop off near as easy. After that I'll do a boost leak test and make sure it can hold at least 30psi. And then I will hopefully get a video of some pulls.
  32. Installed the HX35 this weekend

Well hit a little snag, pulled out on the highway and started to pull and POP! coupler blew off the pipe. So I spent about 10 minutes in 5F with a 20 degree wind chill getting it put back on and just took it easy the rest of the way home. So I won't be doing anything crazy till I get that sorted...
  33. Installed the HX35 this weekend

Yep running dsmlink v3 in speed density mode. After some fiddling around with it it's pretty easy to use and tune. All I can say is I picked the wrong time of year to install this turbo, I can't get much grip. But I did manage to get a couple clean pulls and log over 43lbs of air at only 23-24psi.
  34. Compresion - pistons!?

Yes I would strongly recommend a mls headgasket, especially since you are wanting to run alot of boost. I'm pretty sure a regular old head gasket wouldn't last very long.
  35. Installed the HX35 this weekend

Hmm... I might just have to throw some exhaust wrap on that pipe and see if it makes any difference on intake temps. Oh and I didn't actually have to dent the water pipe as much as I thought I would have, just had to use a n/t water pipe. The fitting on the bottom of the turbo pipe makes it so...
  36. Installed the HX35 this weekend

"blackvr4" Thanks for the feedback. And to answer your questions, the pipe isn't actually aluminum. It's just plan old steel pipe, which I know isn't ideal by any means but its what I had to work with at the time. I was thinking about using exhaust wrap (I still might) but for the time being...
  37. Car won't run right past three grand.. HELP?

If you know any mods done to the car that would be very helpful in diagnosing the problem.
  38. Installed the HX35 this weekend

Thanks guys. I'm not worried about the oil drain I have a 7/8 fitting going to a 1" hose. Oil is feeding from the head and the oil pressure is within spec according to Holset, I hooked up a guage to the turbo and checked. And as far as the intake goes, My intake temps aren't to bad at all, with...
  39. Installed the HX35 this weekend

Well the drain did fit without shaving, but it was a pretty tight fit so I shaved maybe 1/16th of an inch just to be safe. I also didn't use the typical oil drain. Observe...
  40. Installed the HX35 this weekend

Well after about a year of doing research and gathering parts I finally got around to Installing the entire setup and I must say it did not disappoint, I even managed to keep the factory radiator! And now pictures for your viewing pleasure.

  42. Aem Ems Experiences?

I had a aem ems series 1 in my car for about 2 days, and during that time I was able to dial in idle and what not. But for the life of me I couldn't figure it all out. ( and by the way I spent several month's studying and read about the aem ems and tuning it.) My personal take on it. Its an...

  45. Galant GSX CR?

I'm sure the answer is somewhere in the forums but I didn't have any luck finding it. Anyways, I have a '91 Galant GSX that has been my parts car till recently. I have since decided to fix it up and get her running! My question is this, what is the compression ratio of the 4g63 in naturally...
