I would tend to agree. I had a RRE unit that didn't have the oil groove that ate the oil pump eventually.The factory stub shaft you can buy for really cheap has the groove.

You might want to give Paul a call and see. That looks like a manufactured piece they sell (just checked their website). All the other connectors I've bought there are pretty cheap (under $10), and maybe they can sell you just the connector. Worth a shot.

So, out of curiosity, now that I have my stash of these...What is the "proper" (code?) way to wire them to AC power? Just a plastic grommet in a electrical box for the wires to go through? Would like to wire them up as close to code as possible. I realize codes are different everywhere...

Back in the day, I owned a 1988 626 4-door turbo version of this car. It was fast as hell for what it was. Really surprised a lot of guys (sleeper). Was pretty rare to have the 4-door one instead of the 5 door (hatchback) one in turbo too.

They can be purchased aftermarket for pretty cheap. Even OEM is only $40/side, if I remember correctly.

Walked through that same excercise. Ended up being a bad alternator. Was draining a couple amps all the time.
