  7. Fuel System Questions

Quoting joec: More info on cutting the hard pipe and replacing it with fuel hose: http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/html/gvr4_3000gtnt.htmlAlso, from the above site: "If you need to use a piece of fuel hose inside your tank, be sure it is SAE J30R10 spec hose. That hose is high...

  9. Next Project: AIR CONDITIONING (ES-12A)

Quoting Terry Posten: I'll keep 134a and know that the only bomb is a possible fuel leak.Do you guys know how AC leaks were searched for back a few years ago? They use a propane tank with a flame protected tip and if the flame changed colors at the vents and around fittings/core, you had a...
  10. Next Project: AIR CONDITIONING (ES-12A)

I was looking into retrofitting 115 for R-134a but when looking at all the proper things that need to be done in order for the system to last it would just be cheaper to stick with R-12. Anything having to do with your A/C system isn't going to be cheap which makes doing it right the first time...
  11. Trans wont go into neutral...

So I pulled the trans apart tonight and found the shift rail end was my problem. No real carnage to speak of, the trans is pretty damn clean.Im sure this looks pretty familiar...

    Haha, carnage pics to come...
  13. Trans wont go into neutral...

Yeah I just downloaded the service manual from lilevo and was doing some homework. I noticed I would have to punch out the end nut "detents" to get to the good stuff and remove the shift fork assembly. So I'll be getting those parts along with the new shift fork from TRE. Theres also a decent...
  14. Trans wont go into neutral...

Ok I'll be attempting this as soon as i get the new fork and roll pin. Thanks again for the quick replys and sound advice. Maybe a how to opportunity awaits...
  15. Trans wont go into neutral...

I got the trans out again. Is there any difference between any of the shift forks? I was hoping to use the 5th-R fork from my other trans considering its so easy to get to. Also what would be the best way to get at the 1st-2nd fork? Should I start at the bellhousing or tear down from the 5th...
  16. Trans wont go into neutral...

After looking at it for a while I did notice it seemed like it was going into 2 gears at once. So im thinkin you sir are correct. Thank you for confirming my assumption. Back to the garage floor....JSB fo life!
  17. Trans wont go into neutral...

So i recently did a trans swap for a used transmission. I started it up last night and noticed it wouldnt go into neutral. The only time it will stay in neutral is when the clutch is depressed. It will start to move the car in every gear but wont budge when i put it in reverse.I adjusted...
  18. Brakes constantly binding, fronts only

The first thing I would look at here would be your brake lines. If they're your basic rubber lines and have ever been pinched or kinked they could be acting like a one way check valve preventing fluid from returning to the reservior. Also possibly using the wrong fluid or letting it go too long...
  19. Vent Temps

Try to pressure test your radiator cap if its worn out it may not hold the pressure you need to properly heat your coolant, as wierd as that may sound.Your thermostat only determines the minimum amount of heat your engine can produce so if your radiator cap isnt holding proper pressure it can...

I acquired #115 from him and I must admit the transaction was a pleasant one. He went above and beyond my expectations with information about the car and the car itself was well taken care of. Good, honest people are hard to come by these days and Dave definately falls into that catagory. Thanks...
