  1. How many PNW GVR4s are up and running?

Checking in. Up and running but needs some attention.
  2. Face Plated gear sets from Liberty Transmission

How much power is the gearbox seeing? I want to go this route but I'm still hesitant to pull the trigger, I'd hate to dump a bunch of money into a a Liberty setup and rip the gears apart a short while after.
  3. GSX_TC's Galant VR4 Build Thread #550/2000 (Samara)

One of my favorite mods to my car was the rear cup holders with the Evo rear seats. $300 for Evo 8 seats in good shape.
  4. GSX_TC's Galant VR4 Build Thread #550/2000 (Samara)

The Magnus manifold is THE manifold to have, there is no questioning that. You cannot accomplish with a SMIM that you can with a cast unit.Back to the catch can... I think people often times overlook crank case ventilation, not realizing how much you can benefit from a properly designed setup...
  5. GSX_TC's Galant VR4 Build Thread #550/2000 (Samara)

And I remember how you thought my can was a f***ing good idea when I was out in Yakima.
  6. GSX_TC's Galant VR4 Build Thread #550/2000 (Samara)

As far as breather systems go, my best result came from running lines from the stock breathers from the VC to a catch can with drop tubes that force the VC pressure to the bottom of the can. I have two outlets at the top in which the air and vapor must travel through baffles and SS mesh to...
  7. The 30R that could

My goals for the car were to build a fun street car. I'm not chasing ETs and trap speeds, I feel like I've accomplished my original goal. After all, you don't build a Galant with a 30R when trying to turn heads and break recordsShift times are an estimate through ECMLink from the time I was...
  8. The 30R that could

I just caught a glimpse of what the ETS GTR did on the dyno earlier this evening. The number is almost unbelievable.
  9. The 30R that could

These runs were made with the tune I put together off the street. Based on how the motor responded to 1* of timing at 5,000RPM, I could probably get a better curve out of it.I really do feel like the bolt on housing is choking it up top and a vband or T3 housing would make the 600hp.556hp...
  10. The 30R that could

The result wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but it still did pretty well. Long story short, 571awhp, 495wtq, 40psi around 4,400RPM, peak torque around 5,600RPM.FP says the HTA compressor is good for 40psi, so since I spent the time and money to get the car to where it would support...
  11. FS: Group buy GSC cams DSM/EVO

How did that Galant do with the 5858 on the dyno?
  12. 786/2000 Build

Its still the same motor with 45k miles on it. This motor has been through a lot, including an injector failure where the injector didn't completely shut off, but went way lean and torched a hole in the cylinder head and put a divot in the block just outside the fire ring. The head was welded...
  13. 786/2000 Build

It might be the broken air vents, they clank around from time to time, but I've learned to tune them out. Thanks for posting up the pictures and video, Andrew.
  14. Cooling ideas anyone?

You will most likely need another fan. I put a pusher on mine when the factory pusher was and wired it to a thermo switch. This is a lot easier if you don't have AC. Throw a 180 thermostat back in it, the car will like it more than the 160.
  15. 786/2000 Build

Soooo... i took the car out for some 1600ft roll racing today. Maxed out my little bolt on 30R at 39psi (doesn't hold that out the top, obviously). Take it with a grain of salt, but it logged 60lb/min today for a moment. I suspected it was time for some new plugs and took a spare set with me. I...
  16. Stalling when engine-braking to a stop (RESOLVED)

I'm on SD and the issue still comes and goes depending on the map I have loaded. Maybe with a new map, something will change and the issue will go away. It's worth a shot. Using the MAF adjustment to dial in the VE table wil help expedite things, its worth giving it a shot before you scrap the...
  17. BoV suggestions (flutter dump w/ stock BOV) - Resolved w/ Dodge Mod

Quoting GSTwithPSI: Quoting 4thStroke: Not all that glitters is gold. Although I was able to dial in and create a perfect boost curve with ECMLink, you could audibly hear the wastegate "chop" from the solenoid opening and closing through the open dump. I've seen this before and the cars pulled...
  18. BoV suggestions (flutter dump w/ stock BOV) - Resolved w/ Dodge Mod

I'm limited by the 44mm flange with the FP turbine housing. It has the 12psi spring I believe. I've wondered if a different spring would help, that's another thing I have yet to try, but I can't find the logical sense that would tell me it would help.
  19. DONE...Saturn Alternator with Jay Racing Relocation Kit

I'm beginning to wonder if Bosch had a bad batch. This is the third one that has died in short time recently that I've heard of. They had a great reputation for the longest time. I get a seemingly endless supply of warrantied units through work within a days time so I'll keep tossing them in. I...

Not all that glitters is gold. Although I was able to dial in and create a perfect boost curve with ECMLink, you could audibly hear the wastegate "chop" from the solenoid opening and closing through the open dump. I've seen this before and the cars pulled good. However, my experience was that...
  21. Stalling when engine-braking to a stop (RESOLVED)

I've had this issue come and go.I recently swapped back over to my ethanol map and made the needed changes to run my ID2000s and the issue went away. I have no idea what the issue was, but sometimes when you get away from the .25g/rev at idle midset, the cars drive better.I know for...

Quoting DSSA: Quoting 4thStroke: When did he add the HD setup? Probably a year ago or so.He had them long before he listed them. I was exchanging emails about the HD setup with him a couples ago and he already had a few sets out. There's a member on ecmlink.com who kept shredding multiple...
  23. Suggestions/Opions on running thicker oil

I'm a firm believer in 20w50. I've been around too many individuals who can verify the benefits of running the thicker oil in these motors. English Racing now has under driven oil pump gears to help keep the oil pressure down. I think 20w50 and VR1 with the under driven oil pump gear is the...

  25. TRE or Shep

If the car will see high power levels, go with Jack and use his HD gear set. They seem to be holding up in the high torque applications.
  26. ETS Intercooler Kit - Questions

I didn't have any fitment issues with mine, either, and mine had all the equipment in he bay.
  27. Just an FYI, fuel filler tubes

It's the lower part. Mine cracked on the bottom side where it enter the tank. A trail of fuel behind the car and puddles at stoplights are kind of a troubling sight.
  28. Just an FYI, fuel filler tubes

They are still available from Mitsu. There has been talk for years about the last ones being hoarded and sold and will soon be NLA. I just picked mine up, but it cost me over $60. The material seems to be different than the original pieces and they're gray in color.Just wanted to let you guys...
  29. Ecmlink Ethanol sensor

While I would love to be able to say I haven't had any foul play while dealing with ethanol, I can't. I posted this just over a couple years back.clickHowever, I just swapped my 450s in and put the car back on pump gas to get it through emissions and found no black residue on the 1250s after...
  30. I can't get a break with my car!

I hear ya man. I sealed up all the leaks from the front of my car recently. I kept getting whiffs of raw fuel when I was out Saturday, it turns out if the car isn't leaking some sort of fluid from the front, its leaking from the rear. My filler hose cracked while I was out.My FP manifold...
  31. SD galant ecmlink v3

You're best bet would be to post a log on the ecmlink forums. I wouldn't say anything about a shop tuning the car, as there are a lot of snobs on there that'll just critique the tune more so than actually help.
  32. SD galant ecmlink v3

You added delta TPS to the captured values list and then added it to the displayed values list, correct? They're two different functions/steps, so if delta TPS didn't show on the log at all, the second step probably didn't take place. My car ran perfectly fine when my TPS sensor wasn't working...
  33. SD galant ecmlink v3

Disable airflow smoothing if its not already.Check out the ecmlink wiki, this should help at least some. =tip t=_blank]clickAs far as delta TPS not showing a number while you blip the throttle, I can't add to that, I'm at just as much of a loss as you are.
  34. SD galant ecmlink v3

Your TPS is in fact working correctly?
  35. SD galant ecmlink v3

Does it do this at any cruising RPM?For the tip in adjustment, I believe you need to log delta (you know... the triangle thing) TPS and adjust the tip in table according to the value it gives you when the car sputters.
  36. #740/1000 BUILD

Have you had a chance to drive it with the BC coilovers? I've had good luck with them in the past on another platform for daily use and am curious if the street manners carried over to our platform.I'm a big fan of stock looking VR4s that make good numbers. Good work!EDIT* I jumped the...
  37. Ecmlink Ethanol sensor

A lot of people will tell you that the stock lines and 255s won't cut it, but that's not always true. I've had success with the Walbro 255s and stock lines for a long time, right down to a stock replacement filter and bottleneck fitting on the top of the filter and the car keeps taking more...
  38. Ecmlink Ethanol sensor

Quoting marvinmadman: What is required now to run e85?Before? I made it by with the bare essentials of an intank 255, an inline 255 spliced in between the stock fuel filter and stock rail/fittings, and a FPR with pushlock lines, injectors, and stock return. Now, you add this sensor, wire...
  39. jnava

I sold Juan some intercooler pipes. Easy to work with and no issues throughout the exchange. Wouldn't hesitate to do business with again.
  40. GSX_TC's Galant VR4 Build Thread #550/2000 (Samara)

I completely agree with what you said and didn't make it sound like I was an advocate of choking up his exhaust, I was only backing up what slugs said since his point was valid, but not the way I (or you) would fix the problem. I was just explaining how that would help one of the issues Mike is...

  42. GSX_TC's Galant VR4 Build Thread #550/2000 (Samara)

You won't have creep issues if you ran the turbo at a practical boost pressure. Adding a larger gate now when you plan on going with a larger fuel systems will be nothing but a waste of money.
  43. GSX_TC's Galant VR4 Build Thread #550/2000 (Samara)

Regardless to of the motor being ran short, the torque curve is lacking as well, it should have peaked, leveled off, and tapered, which I don't see at all. What are you using for boost control? If the boost control has a slow ramp, that could explain it, but still not definite. It looks like...

  48. Had a bit of an oops moment.

I have brand new all season tires, the car does great in the snow.I took the car out Thursday night after it dumped a good amount of snow. I'm on ethanol, turned up to 500+awhp with a welded center diff. The alternator threw sparks and died after many 8k RPM center spins and left me stranded...
  49. Opinions and Experiences with 9.0 CR on a DD
