  1. So I entered 1051 in a street car competition

Damn. That is cool. Pictures of your GVR4 goin' through the cones is pretty sweet. Definitely a nice picture of it in action! Good job on getting a bit over 30mpgs! that's quite amazing
  2. When did you fall in love with the GVR4

back in 2003, cousin bought a 1GB Talon. He said there was another sleeper that had the same engine as the DSMs that looked like the Accords in those years. Looked online and there it was, 1992 Galant VR-4. Got a crush on it.Later that year, my brother's friend was trying to sell my brother...
  3. whats under your hood??

bump before it get's engulfed in a fire fueled by 100 pounds of everclear
  9. Making a top mount intercooler and have a plumbing question.

It'd be interesting to see. I swear I've seen a DSM have one in the engine bay once with proper heat shields of such. I've also seen an turbocharged 92 Accord have the DSM side-mount IC inside the engine bay on a website (backyard turbochargers...or something like that)
  10. so ive had my car for sale.

badass but i HATED rotating/replacing tires on those dually's.

  12. #1948 a.k.a Stitch Progress thread

your car is quite amazing to look at.
  13. What kind of power should I expect?

I have 550s, e316g, exhaust, 190 pump, dsmlink, pump gas. On a Mustang Dyno, I should be around the 250-260awhp mark at 20psi. More than enough for me.
  14. engine swaps ...

    subscribed!
  15. New owner of 313/1000!

Good to know a fellow Minnesotan having one Post up some pictures of the car ( ) and the excess wires. If you're stuck or stumped, use the search because it has helped me out ALOT in the past.+1 Curtis, these are not DSMs but the engine/trans are all the same as the 1G (89-92ish) Do it the...
  16. FS: 92 Mitsubishi Galant VR4(808/1000) St.Paul, MN - $2,500 OBO

BUMP!$2,500 OBO. Throw me an offer but don't give a LOWBALL price. Newbs/Members with 1-5 posts, I can't trust anymore unless you were recommended by a member on here. Plans are changing and I'd rather have something that moves rather than something that sits Anyways...bump!
  17. evo3 install

it's optional to remove the radiator. you WILL have alot more room to play with if you remove your radiator. Switching out the turbos was actually very easy. The first time I did it, it took my brother and I 5 hours, easily 3 if we didn't run into some small issues.
  18. All Mitsu Cookout -- Sunday, August 28th, 2011 -- Rogers, MN

I should be there...not sure if the Galant will be thoughBut, every year it's always fun and I had an awesome time last year.
  19. Update on 425/1000. What I have been up to.

    that is FREAKING clean dude.
  20. Whos galant is this??

i can't really see myself paying 2-3k for a street-use exhaust manifold...If I'm going all out and my goals were 1000awhp then..game on but still...ouch on the price of the manifold for a car being driven "daily" to the mountains.
  21. Bad CAS or timing off?

I replaced the spark plugs only and it sounded like it had 272s. I turned it off and turned it back on and it idled fine. Once it warmed up, it started to not idle very well. Giving it a rev to 2k, it started stuttering and sounded like a consistent misfire. While warming up, it didn't want to...
  22. 998/1000 gets some JDM love

    looks pretty sweet
  23. New Engine

New, like a freshly rebuilt one? I knew of a couple local guys selling their well built long blocks for right under $1k. Even well built short blocks were going for $500-$600, IIRC, these blocks had at least double the $$$ in the block. If I were to get a rebuild, I believe there is a really...
  24. daily driver + semi trailer = ruined friday and new paint

wow. lots of work and effort put into restoring it back guys! Awesome and it looks like it was never hit!
  25. What kind of oil are you running?

Yeah, just wondering what oil you guys are using for your GVR4. I've been using Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic since I bought the car. I've been reading online that M1 isn't as 'good' as what it used to be. So, what type of oil brand are you using?10w-30 Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic
  26. What turbo do you run?

    MHI Evo 3 16g
  27. Power Potential Questions

I think with those mods...you should be in the 350 awhp range. Safe and Reliable really depends on how heavy your foot is and how well build your engine is.For me, I've got a e316g, 550s, 2g manifold, 2g mas, DSMLink, stock cams, 190 pump, and some other things I'm forgetting. But I'm...
  28. Call me crazy: Thinking of running 19in wheels

No. I remember seeing a picture of someone's GVR4 having on 18s...didn't look right in my eyes. It looked goofy. It's probably best to put it on your Supra...but I'd go staggered fitment on those for the Supra. 285s in the rear at least
  29. King of Bling

    snaps...should've gotten the spinners yo!
  30. Dyno Chart Oddity **Update 1.1**

^^ took me 5 seconds clickWhat did your tuner say? it drops off quite dramatically. what color is the smoke?
  31. Tires for a daily driver

In My Opinion: 195 60 15 or 205 55 15 for street use. 50 series side walls look goofy on our rims and won't ride as "comfy" as the 60 series. I'd only roll on the 50 series sidewalls only if I had 16s. I'm sure the widest you can put on our stock rims are either 225s or 215s + with smaller...
  32. Price check on a few things.

i will drive to Iowa and pick up that rear bumper! for real, Des Moines is only like a measely 4 hour drive for me.
  33. FEELER: stock set of wheels and tires nile black and alpine white

I know it's odd but I've been looking for 1, yes, 1 92 rim for a while. If for whatever reason you trash them, please let me know. Thanks.
  34. What kind of fmic setup are you running?

I had a shop do my IC pipings. The intercooler itself was given free to me by an old friend which was pretty cool of him to do.
  35. hella horns

trying to get a neon green one with the MONSTER emblem on it currently. it will match my BG gvr4
  36. Interior Pics. Time to Show off!

    simply stock....except it's missing a gauge
  37. Project Log: #594 - 600-650 awhp or BUST!!!

Those were also the rims I was planning to put on my car but all of the sizes were a bit too big for what I was going to use them for. Very nice rims.
  38. SOLD: EBAY AUCTION: Check out this sweet 1G TSI AWD 70K Original Miles!

Car is priced extremely well for anyone of us who has owned/worked on a 1G DSM. I have a special place in my heart for these 1Gs and if the Galant sold, I wouldn't mind picking this one up. Great price for something you won't find in a VERY long time.
  39. #1900 - 'GOLFBALL' build - 2.4-AUTO-NITROUS.... Street car?

damn, that engine bay is so clean....so clean.
  40. Dyno'd my car at TX2k11 in houston

    amazing numbers!
  41. Blue smoke when starting from a standstill

possibly valve seals are leaking from the head. see if there is oil residue around your exhaust manifold. If there is, then it's your valve seals leaking.
  42. Lousy customer service

Interesting...I won't be buying from that vendor then....
  43. The never ending build of 1062.

    looks amazing man.
  44. last look

Once you see it..you'll sh*t bricks
  45. FS: 1992 Galant VR4 745/1000 Boise Idaho SOLD

If I sell my Galant..I wouldn't mind picking this car up. But I'm sure you get alot of those too. It's a really nice GVR4. One of the nicer GVR4s I've seen here in the forums.
  46. Opinion? : Wheels for K. Gray VR-4

blaze orange, blaze pink, hot red and neon green on each wheel. It's hard to say but for me, the bronze golden color (from the volk te37s) tend to match all the color depending how the rim looks like.here's my tasted: not SO gold...but a bit more bronze into it.
  47. Who's VR4 for sale in NY with 23k miles.

...the great white buffalo......the great white buffalo...
  48. Reman'd Calipers

Hey Geoff,I too had an issue with the rear calipers. It seems that the 93+ DSM AWD calipers will fit our cars because the brake lines from the 90-91 AWD 1G are in a different position then the 92-94 calipers IIRC. I'll try to dig up some pictures because I can show the difference between the...
  49. Found in scrap yard #?/1000

KBB is a guideline but alot of people use it just because it's a guideline. I don't think guidelines will show you true value to a car. Imagine finding the Moon Diamond Pearl version of the GVR4; unmolested, no rust, no oil leaks, no rust (yeah, no rust!), low mileage(give or take 30k-45k...
