I have 2 mufflers on my car, but the first one is where the cat used to be. It helps quiet down the full 3 inch exhaust. I love the sound, deep but not excessively loud.

you can use the front caliper from a dsm but it has to be from a 92.5+ twin piston dsm since all vr4's got the big brakes

the 90 bracket has a longer arm, and i believe the shifter assembly is specific to 90 or 91+ so I would guess you need the later ones, have you tried adjusting them first?

a trans case yoke w/ a u joint,the metal shield thats mounts on the end of the transfer case, and like 8 c clips

check compression, check oil, coolant. I would say if they all look good, ya need to get it hot, does it have a cat? I have seen crap build up in exhaust and ya got to burn it out I don't think just idling and revving it some would do a good job, does it run well? smooth?
