  1. WTB: oem wheels

Pot had a set a few months ago when I was in the market but I ended up going with something else. Shoot him a PM.
  2. New guy from Mass with a 4G63 Ram 50 and now a GVR4

Props! I can only imagine how many hours you have in it. Great job.
  3. EB: 1991 Galant VR4 #940 with 48K miles $9000

Can't wait to see what this brings. If I wasn't so against going into debt for things I don't need I'd be interested lol.
  4. Brake rebuild.

Agreed, if anything is stuck on them I'd use them as cores. Or just buy a nice working pair and replace them completely.
  5. The 4900 mile Unicorn VR4 Galant horn was fake.

I would say cleaned up and maintenance its worth 15k. Can't be too many of these left with such low mileage.
  6. The 4900 mile Unicorn VR4 Galant horn was fake.

I would say cleaned up and maintenance done its worth 15k. Can't be too many of these left with such low mileage.
  7. FS: 1991 Galant VR-4 (#1444/2000) $9500 Knoxville, TN

    Figured it wouldn't take long.
  8. Leather Shift Boot.

I purchased one from aliexpress for around $10 shipped for my Mirage and was amazed at the quality...
  9. FS: 1991 Galant VR-4 (#1444/2000) $9500 Knoxville, TN

Wow, never thought I'd see this day. Way too cheap IMO. GLWS! Please tell me your next project will be another Mitsu.
  10. JReece3556 Build

Looks awesome so far, can't wait to see it all back together.
  11. Car Starts but Stalls Immediately after Built Engine Install

You can fab up a simple tool to clean injectors. Think it's on Jafromobiles youtube videos. While it may not be as good as the guys with professional equipment, it should at least let you know if that's your issue or not. I fabbed up one to clean the oe injectors from the 89 Raider I had a few...
  12. Body clips

I've always had good luck using this style and modifying the head to fit the molding.
  13. Engine Degreaser & Shine?

Agreed, if you go through with it wrap the coil pack/ptu, cas, throttle body and maf with plastic and tape. I've had great luck with purple power and my electric pressure washer. Stubborn spots may take a few tries but I hardly ever do more than spray it on and wait 15 min and then pressure wash...
  14. FS: 1991 galant vr4.....79k....Bone stock .SOLD

Hmm, that's weird. It's not in the title on the main page but it still shows $10,500 at the top once you click the thread. Does for me anyway.
  15. FS: 1991 galant vr4.....79k....Bone stock .SOLD

Thought this car was sold, pretty sure it was anyway. Asking price of $10,500 is in the title though.
  16. Caliper Brake Line Inlet Stripped

Silly question but couldn't you thread the fitting in and have someone tig it professionally? I mean its already scrap metal so if they mess it up what would it hurt? Am I right in thinking there is an adapter that screws in, then the brake like screws into that?Edit, nevermind. Forgot...
  17. 820 Got Side Swiped

I bet your wife was scared to death to tell you the car was messed up even though it wasn't her fault. As a body guy, that 1/4 panel is going to take some work to get it back straight. Sounds like nobody was hurt though and that's all that matters. Have you checked to see if Pot has a door?
  18. FS: 92 Plymouth Colt-DOHC 4G64 NA NC SOLD

The new owner is looking to part ways with my old Colt. I can put you in contact with him as he's not a member on here (lives in Va). He's asking $3300 and it has around 75k on it now. Please PM me for details. If this is not allowed I fully understand, please delete if so. Thanks
  19. Update on 1280/2000

    Very nice!
  20. Got another one

Awesome, how many do you have hoarded now lol?
  21. 1994 Eagle Summit

I'm assuming its an auto? I've seen a few guys use the RVR trans in theirs and stay auto with a 4G63. 4g61t.org has a section dedicated to these things so there is a little more info on there. If you plan to do a manual swap I know a guy that may have a pedal and shifter assembly for the swap...
  22. Transmission painting

    They all look great.
  23. From NC

There are a few of us.
  24. FS: Key Fob replicas

God I can't believe this was 7 years ago. Where did the time go?
  25. 89Mirageman Throttlebody Modification

I don't see why that wouldn't work. I've read where people blocked the extra holes when going DOHC on a 7 bolt the same way with no issues. Not sure I'd trust it for something like that but for the throttle body maybe.
  26. Transmission painting

Thanks guys! The bolts were around $45 I think. Probably barely notice them once its back in the car but I'll know they're there. Reminds me of my youth detailing models.
  27. Transmission painting

This is what I used a few months back. Think it was around $5 at Walmart.Straight from the junkyardAfter some elbow greaseOne can was plentyNew yellow zinc case bolts really pop against the silver and brings it back to looking new again.New reverse sensor...
  28. FS: 1987 Jdm Galant VR4-Rhd (Fully Built/Restored)

Wow is pretty much all that I can come up with. I agree with the statement above, easily worth every penny.
  29. 89Mirageman Throttlebody Modification

Quoting strokin4dr: It is internally blocked off. My other TB's were blocked off inside with JB Weld long before I started machining the lines off for simplicity and esthetics. Same thing as using one of the block off plates that allows you to retain the ISC.So I would still need to use the...
  30. 89Mirageman Throttlebody Modification

Can you give more detail on what you do to delete it? Blockoff plate or what? Or do you just machine it off and tap in a freeze plug? I agree, looks way cleaner. Weather is about the same here in NC so I wouldn't have any issues.
  31. GSTwithPSI

Got some GVR4.org decals for my workbench since I don't own a GVR4 at the moment. Thanks again!
  32. 89Mirageman Throttlebody Modification

Thanks guys! I really wish I had the skills to do videos like TurboTom, Jafro ,Joe Wrenches & many others. Maybe one of these days I'll look into it a bit further. Got to start somewhere, you know.As far as the coolant fittings, doesn't it take the car forever to idle down in the colder months...
  33. FS: 2003 Honda S2000, SoCal, **SOLD**

The amount of info you put in your ads is nice. No need to ask a ton of questions or do any sort of guess work, you covered it all. The rest of us should take notes when selling a vehicle. So glad you decided to keep the Evo , this one should sell quickly.
  34. Evo BBS restoration

Looks just right man, great job. And still way cheaper than a body shop. Also never thought about having to heat the wheel up for a long period with powder coating, makes sense.
  35. FS: 2003 Evolution ***Please Delete***

Wow, this should sell pretty fast. I've seen them locally on CL that look like they've been to Hell and back for your asking price or more. I'm sure you will miss it. GLWS!
  36. Front crank bearing/seal question

Could also be cam seals, just running down behind the cover. Balance shafts still in, if not it could be where they plugged the front shaft on the case. Honestly though if the drive belts are oily you'll want to replace the timing belt no matter what the issue is.
  37. WTB: Antennae Motor

Not sure if this will help or not but the power antenna from the 1st gen Diamantes is very similar. I remember using one in my old VR-4 many years ago. Seems I had to swap out one bracket or something easy. I'm sure those cars are pretty hard to find these days though.
  38. FS: 02 Eclipse GT 17 OEM wheels $125

Tires will be removed before they are shipped to save money, they are shot anyway. No bends or curb rash. Asking $125 + shipping. PM me with your zip for a shipping quote but I'm thinking it'll be at least $80-$100 for the set. Paypal is [email protected]
  39. FS: 17x7.5" +45 4x114.3 Kosei K1 wheels

Figured these would have sold within minutes . Love these wheels, had them in 15's on my first Colt back in the day. It's super easy to re-drill a rotor if you were serious about swapping your Laser to 4 lug.
  40. Spatchana (aka Pot)

Not sure what else I can add here. Pot sent me a throttle body to block the vacuum ports on. Took me an hour or so and I gave him the buddy hookup price since we've bought, sold and traded parts for years. Instead he sends me nearly double what I asked for. Great guy in my book.
  41. Evo BBS restoration

    Very nice!
  42. Rear caliper replacement

FWD/AWD rear calipers are slightly different Tim. They are clocked a little different where the e-brake cable attaches. I used a FWD caliper on an AWD car once in a pinch but had to leave the e-brake unhooked. There would be some down time but you could always order new seals and rebuild them...
  43. My restoration and build of #1444/2000 - lots of pics and video!

I love all of your cars but must admit there's a soft spot for the Mitsu's. Personally I like the way you went back to your roots with the videos. Especially if it means there will be less time between updates. I know with a job and a family there isn't much free time to do things like this...

  45. WTB: 1g DSM front 5 lug hubs

Anybody have a pair laying around? Don't need the entire knuckle, just the round hub with the lugs. Shipped to 27883 please.
  46. ECU capacitor question

They have. The factory ones sit flush on the board.
