  1. Gauge Cluster Broken?

i ended up just grounding the temp gauge straight from the screw in the back of the cluster. As the fuel gauge and temp gauge grounds are connected, both ended up working again with the issue fixed. THanks for your help guys
  2. Removing Cluster Needles

Anyone know how to remove the needles on the cluster?? Or even how to take apart the entire cluster? I think i may have a fault rpm gauge (still works but it sags and therefore is out or inaccurate). I have another cluster with a good and working rpm gauge but the cluster is different ( has...
  3. Gauge Cluster Broken?

Okay so i found out that the other gauge cluster i have has the issue all the time, didnt even realise (even though its night time and cold out). So cleaned up all the contacts that on the circuit board of the cluster and will wait till tomorrow for results.
  4. Gauge Cluster Broken?

UPDATE: Car has been in paint over the winter and the issue died down alittle. Now that its getting hotter, the problem has come back. I tried adding an extra ground (as the fuel gauge and the temp gauge use the same ground), didnt affect it. I did however find out that it is affected by heat...

  7. Gauge Cluster Broken?

So recently I have been having this intermittent problem with the cluster. So sometimes the fuel gauge goes way past full and the temperature gauge goes to 1/4 of the way. I have attempted to attach a photo. This photo is when the car is completely COLD. Also the door light in the cluster...

  11. Alternator dash light

Well i replaced the alternator and it does seem to be working now with around 13.8-14 volts. What voltage should the battery be at when sitting?? I might charge up the battery before i start driving it again. I really doubt its the battery as its only 3 months old. What i want to know is why the...
  12. Alternator dash light

I did charge the battery to 12.3-12.4 volts and the car started fine but only dropped voltage once running (assuming now has a load). Going to switch out the alternator tomorrow as i have a spare one. Thanks for the help. I think i saw a regulator online for around 50 AUD.
  13. Alternator dash light

Ohh that makes sense as the light is alittle dull (when ignition is on, not car) I did measure it with a voltmeter and it was reading at 11.3-11.4 volts while the car was running. Measured at the battery. How can i tell if its the alternator or the voltage regulator. As when i disconnected the...

  15. Alternator dash light

  17. Drivetrain whining/ grinding

Hello All! recently bought a 91 galant vr4 that had a new clutch installed. All i had to do was put the gearbox in, simple. 18. Hyper Flashing on both indicators

I managed to figure out that the indicators must have been switched out or something by previous owner. The indicator had the double bulb system (like you said) and so was using a lower wattage bulb. Plus my owners manual says that the indicator is suppose to be on the bumper, which my bumper...
  19. Hyper Flashing on both indicators

I have a RHD galant. Will look for the relay tomorrow. What’s the OEM wattage for the bulbs?
  20. Hyper Flashing on both indicators

Hello, new to the forum. Just wondering how to fix hyper flashing on my indicators. All the bulbs are working. The fuse under the dash (inside) is fine. There are NO LED bulbs fitted. The hazards work fine. Could the tail lights have LEDs in them? Also is there a simple relay i need to switch...
