  2. Partout: #1365/2000 Black 91 CRASHED

Quoting NateCrisman:on vacation in florida till 12th. i haven't even looked at the trunk area, car is still sitting on the trailer back in nj. No idea on the power antenna condition, car has no radio and the wiring on the front end of the car is completely severed by the battery. It's going...
  3. Partout: #1365/2000 Black 91 CRASHED

Hey Nate,I'll take the power antenna as long as it works without issue.I checked your site and do not see it posted up there yet. Thanks.
  4. WTB: Front fender liners aaaaaaaand a brake line.

Not to throw you off track, but for the brake line it's probably way easier to buy some line and do it yourself. If you google it you'll see how easy it is to do. Just need some line and a flaring kit.
  5. WTB: Mirror Switch for Center Console

I'm looking for a working mirror switch control located in the center console. My kids broke mine.Let me know if you have one and how much delivered to 11757. Thanks.
  6. gotclutch87

Bought a support bracket for my gvr4 from Steve. Paid him for the part and he sent it out the next day. The packaging was done great. I'd definitely do business with again. Thanks again.

I picked up a set of Volvo rims from a coworker who was trying to get rid of them. Now it's my turn.click
  8. stupid tranny...

I had to move my engine forward an inch or so to get the trans diff to clear the rear crossmember. I had no issues taking my trans out and never had an issue putting one in before. This time I didn't have enough room. I pulled the front and rear mount pins, moved the engine forward an inch...
  9. Transmission Install advice

Tim, if I head up to Rochester again I'll buy you a few rounds at the bar.I started on it about ten minutes ago. I have solid mounts and all I did was remove the pins from the front and rear mounts. Slid the engine forward about an inch or two and that's all it took. I put on the trans clocked...
  10. stupid tranny...

Quoting gvr4144: How strong are you..? lol im 200 pounds and know im stronger then most. Seemed like i was going to get it but the throw out bearing popped off and my shoulder got pinned under it lolI feel your pain. I'm 6'3" 200+ and going through the same thing with my trans. I've...
  11. Transmission Install advice

I had to take a break from it tonight and have some beers.I'm using the jack from below method, but it's basically holding it up so I can grab it and try to put it on from above.I have a hoist and just swapped in the engine and hoist a month ago. I've been at this for a total of 6...
  12. Transmission Install advice

Yup never had this guy on the car:click
  13. Transmission Install advice

I didn't even know I was missing the plate until yesterday.HA. Not the transfer case. I'm talking about the big bulge on the backside of the trans that fits in the cutout in the rear crossmember. Now I'm getting scared that the rear crossmember somehow moved around since that plate...
  14. Transmission Install advice

Yes sir. My friend was also asking about the "triangle brace" and I had no idea what he was talking about as #541 doesn't have it.
  15. Transmission Install advice

Removing the engine mounts was the next step in this debacle. Then I can move it around a bit more. Was it a GGSX or an eclipse GSX? TEL's are cake compared to a gvr4 because of the rear cross member difference.
  16. Transmission Install advice

I'm getting extremely frustrated with trying to install the trans(been working on it for about 5 hours now).I had to drop the trans because the clutch fork pivot ball snapped off. I figured I'd swap in another trans I had laying around. The trans has the same ID number so it's the same...
  17. Clutch Fork Movement

Well it looks like the Pivot ball snapped off.I'm going to throw in a spare trans I have laying around as this one had some issues. Thanks guys.
  18. Clutch Fork Movement

Yup. That's what I'm thinking.Once I removed the slave cylinder the clutch fork arm moves all around, but I still can't pull it out. I'm thinking the TOB clips are holding it in place.
  19. Clutch Fork Movement

I'm using non OEM parts.I had the wifey push the pedal while I looked at the slave and it does appear to fully extend the fork arm. So, I started to pull stuff apart to drop the trans. I pulled the dust boot cover thing protecting the fork arm so I can kind of have a little look inside to...
  20. Clutch Fork Movement

It is an act 2100 setup. When the pedal isn't pressed i can move the fork up and down in the car. I figured it should stay put in the middle and only move left to right when the clutch pedal is pressed but not up and down.
  21. Clutch Fork Movement

A month ago in bumper to bumper traffic I pushed in my clutch pedal and it engaged about an inch off the floor instead of the usual 4 inches off the floor. I got it home, put in a new slave cylinder and bled the lines and it was fine for a few weeks. The other day it did the same thing again...
  22. alternater draw 2.6a but cant find a short?

Well my scernario is a bit different. I swapped out my shortblock and when I put it all back together my volts were fluctuating between 13v and 16v. It was just cycling and all the lights on the car would dim and get bright. I drove it for a bit before the volts just stayed at 16v and limped...

  27. Stolen Galant VR4

A guy within the past year had a gvr4 stolen from Long Island. If I remember the story correctly, they stole the gvr4 to get to a mustang or something in the driveway. The gvr4 was blocking it in.Another guy Zee from LI had his stolen, but that was about 5 or 6 years ago.
  28. how many of yall daily your gvr4

Traffic is horrible on weekdays. Weekends are much better. It only took me about an hour each way to do 50 miles. So, it wasn't too bad.I snapped a pic of this today. It's close. I've seen the 4g63 one a few times walking around midtown for my job, but it is elusive. The road goes to...
  29. how many of yall daily your gvr4

I DD mine too, but I have 2 back up cars; 05 wrx and 02 suburban z71. Lately DD just entails driving it to the train station and back home again. Today I drove it in to work. It's a bit scary as it's a 100 mile round trip venture to downtown NYC.
  30. On Long island want to help?

Sorry. I'm in Lindenhurst, but I have one of those 9-5 M-F jobs. Good luck.

Quoting turbojew: Is the title clean or salvage?Title is clean. Or is was clean when I had it in NY. I bought it from TheKid, aka Terrence, aka TK. Anyway, he said that the salvage title did not transfer over from WA. He actually checked on the box on the DMV form where it says if the car...

  34. FS: 1986 Conquest w/ 5.0L 302 5spd Long Island, NY $3500

Thanks guys.Sitting at red lights I've gotten many questions about what I have under the hood. The cam is lumpy and with the straight exhaust you can definitely hear it.Jordan,The new owner of my CRX lives a mile away from me. He's in the army stationed in Kansas and says he is...
  35. FS: 1986 Conquest w/ 5.0L 302 5spd Long Island, NY $3500

I copied this from my CL ad: clickThis is a 1986 Chrysler Conquest. It originally came with a 4cylinder turbo engine with a 5spd transmission, but was swapped out with 5.0L ford. I've been told the block is an explorer block mated up to a T5 trans. Here are some highlights: 5.0L 302 V8 w/...
  36. Where could I can a replacement connector? Alternator plug?

Gary's a good guy. I've bought some parts from him directly at his shop. Some of my friends have worked for him including spooling92vr4 on here.
  37. spooling92vr4

Not that I have to do this again because I think we all know Chris is a great guy, but what the hell. I bought a FMIC that was supposed to fit on a gvr4...maybe it will if you don't have a stock radiator and of course I have a stocker. So, I needed an smaller aftermarket radiator. I gave Chris...
  38. # of needle bearings in rocker arm? PICS

Thanks for the reply.I was thinking the same thing about heat, but everything looks fine. I can't see any discoloration on the rocker or lifter.I pulled the lifter and it's a not a 2nd or 3rd revision. It's an original with the small hole on top. I blew through the side hole and...
  39. # of needle bearings in rocker arm? PICS

Weird. A year later I lost the another rocker on the same lobe. Same thing, it was clacking away for a day or two. I'm thinking I have to change the oil, but no such luck after I change the oil. I pulled the VC tonight and I lost all the needle bearings again. 2 were found in the head. Looks...

  42. FS: 92 GVR4 Rims with Tires Black Long Island, NY $80

New price 80 bucks picked up or trade for 1g 5 lugs rims so i can mount some snow tires.
  43. 5 Lug swap?

I just did the 5 lug swap this past weekend. I used 93 TEL front rotors. They're the big ones you need, the 92's and earlier and smaller if you're keeping the gvr4 calipers.Quoting jmorri15: not all of the dsm have the 2 piston front calipers, if i remember right it was 92 before they...
  44. FS: 92 GVR4 Rims with Tires Black Long Island, NY $80

I'm doing a 5 lug swap, so I no longer need this spare set of rims and tires. I purchased them from Howie, a fellow board member a few years back. I never used them, but all appear to hold air pressure for at least a day or two. 2 tires are in pretty good shape, one is ok and one had some...
  45. Rear Brake Caliper Slider Dust Boot

I picked up a used one from a friend. All AWD 1gs are the same.Wagner has a listing for the part, but it's discontinued as per the guy at advanced auto.
  46. Rear Brake Caliper Slider Dust Boot

Rock had it, so I added it to my basket. I went to checkout and then it popped up saying it no longer had this item and it was removed. Now it's not even listing it anymore so I can't get the part number.I can't get a listing for it on jnz.I looked it up on advancedauto and they had a...
  47. Rear Brake Caliper Slider Dust Boot

I've had #541 for 5 years now and the rear brakes were making some noises so I had a look at them yesterday. Apparently at some time the PO must've removed the LARGE brake caliper dust boot so the slider wasn't moving and wore down the inside pad. I'm having an issue with the larger pivot side...
  48. # of needle bearings in rocker arm? PICS

I had to work today and it was nice out so I took the gvr4 to Manhattan. I recalled last night one of the lifters was making a slight tapping sound. I figured it needed an oil change which i'd do later today or tomorrow. So, i hop in the gvr4 this morning and it was still making a slight...
  49. tips for 1st engine build

Quoting DR1665: They'll probably get you home on two cylindersTroof. 761 had zero compression in 2 cylinders due to a bad HG. Yet I was still able to get it up on a tow dolly. Granted it sounded like a helicopter when given a little gas.
