Curves look nice, but they are only showing plots to 9 in/sec? My curves always went to almost a meter / sec, but we dynoed on a MTS servo hydraulic that could muster up mad force! I do like the digressiveness of the parts, but this is hard to achieve with a needle and seat adjustment...

I had bad luck with 2 different Cometic head gaskets in two different engines in my rally car. My car with a fresh block and head would push coolant or pressurize the water jackets under boost (18-23 psi) and cause much overheating and pain... I popped my motor at one event as a result and...

I opted to NOT tie them in due to the added headache... I plated the tops with some waterjet .250 plate and left it at that. I didnt notice any issues, but it can help when you stuff the car in the woods.Larry

The new RSI sets are mainly for rally and run between 2500-3000 for the set... Hotbits wanted to build a inverted monotube to compete with the big dogs in rally racing... RSSP, Ohlins, Reiger etc... The idea was to bring the added strength of a inverted damper, but sell it for less than half...

FYI...Hotbits is now producing some pretty darn nice inverted monotubes for rally use... They are 52mm OD and come complete with mounts...Also they are using a new e=coating to keep them rust free...

I am sure they do... The hood vent in my talon dropped temps for sure.... I had yet to install one i the VR4 as I felt it had more flow into the eng bay...Note the wavy hood? It blew up after tech at that rally and we found one at a junk yard and swapped it before the event!! Then this...

Good info... Thanks for the help... Looks like summit also sells a set of fans to bolt up to it that looks nice... My issue was always getting warm AFTER a stage is complete... You run 2-25 miles flatout and then come to a stop at the stage end... Sometimes you need to wait and sometimes you...

Do stock hoses fit on the alum unit?

Who is using one? Was there a improvement over stock? I still would like to replace my radiator barn talon unit... It worked fine for a while, but the Galant gets a bit warm on stage...lp

I am selling my 1991 Galant VR4 to move on the another platform... I built this car in 2005-2006 and it has only run a few events... This is a great car and is rally ready... I have spent countless hours on the car and im sad to see it go, but I have other plans at this time and must part with...

Well some guy in Michigan decided to hold this "rally moto" event at Autocity speedway in Flint Michigan... I decided to go at the last min and had some fun... Two cars ran the 80% Tarmac and 20% dirt course at the same time... There was 22 cars and I got knock out after I popped a CV boot and...

Nice... I have had plans to swap mine out and do this also, but have yet to getting around to it... What brand of quickner did ya use? Is it a unit that is straight in and out? I have seen a number of other units with a big offset in and out and I felt that those where no good for fit...

Changing camber via the inner rod-end on the control arm will change your caster and also put you into a position where you will not be able to get your wheels to 0 toe setting.. If you push that rod-end out you will not have the room to adjust on your steering racks ends....Camber should only...

I was at a autocross at waterford hills road course... It was at a race track, but you only got one lap at a time... A neon rolled and the roof was flat from the bottom of the wind screen to the top of the rear window... that guy had sock seats and belts... He was fine... Harness bars are NOT...

Harness bars are bad news!!!! Many track day people wont let you run with one and racing seats.... If you roll on track the idea is that the 5 point belt with hold you in tight as the roof caves in on your poor head.... Have a local shop bend you up a hoop for a bar... SUPER EASY...LP

I have solid delrin in my race car and they seem to be holding up just fine.... I would think that solid is the key for the racers... Also delrin is easy to machine...!LP

I ran that battery in the rally car and it did start the car, but didnt have the juice for cold weather... Sure is light compared to my 45lbs new battery...Lp

I have no parking brake in my car, but did have a line lock on my talon... I think I only used it when my car was on the trailer....LP

So has anyone done rear brake upgrades to the VR4? I would like to upgrade my rears and would like to see if anyone has done this... I have a set of brand new MINT alcon 4 piston calipers with small (32mm) pistons sizes. Alcon lists these as WRC rear... These may sound great but may be a bit...

The suspension is holding up great, but I did take a very big hit on day two fo the event in which I broke both wheels on the passenger side of the car... This also pushed my monoball from my mount almost out of the housing... Besides that the strut was fine... Cap is a parts store 13psi unit...

New motor is strong, but I still had some overheating/puking coolant issues... I need a 20psi cap... and a new crank case vent system... My -10 line is in the wrong spot and getting filled with oil in a stage or two and spraying oil all over my nice clean engine bay...As for high res... I dont...

4th in class 5th overall on saturday... Friday was lost due to getting stuck behind a rolled WRX that was blocking the stage...As a result went from 3rd to 7th place due to the 3 mins we tacked onto our time...You can see each stage time here.... Note the tab on the right needs to be on...

My line lock was just a 1/4 turn valve with a -3 an in and out... Step on the brake and turn the valve... bingo...

You can do one of two things...1. Install a line lock in the rear brake line and this could be your parking brake....2. Install a hydro handbrake with a lock in it... This way you can pull the handle back and insert a pin to lock it out...I have done the first on my last rally car and...
