  1. 22/1000 left for dead

Doesn't look half bad underneath. Solid score.
  2. Hi to all

Welcome. Lots of info here. What shape is 426 in these days?
  3. 238/2000

Looking good. I'm also in MA - we'll have to get some local galants together when they're all running and it's warmer out.
  4. 4g63 Mechanics

That barb typically feeds the factory fuel pressure regulator. I see one end of that hooked into your map sensor but is there any vacuum reference for your FPR? that could be your issue.
  5. ISO: original Galant vr-4 steering wheel

These wheels did not hold up well over time and were specific to this car only. The Galant GSX had a composite version of the same style wheel that held up much better to the test of time, but not everyone loves the way the non-leather wheels feel.
  6. Suspension upgrades by cost

Feal makes a solid product that's somewhere in-between the entry level and upper echelon of coilovers out there.https://fealsuspensionstore.com/feal-coilovers-87-92-mitsubishi-galant-vr4/
  7. Steering Rack. Knocking, rebuild?

Edit - realized you were RHD. Here is a link to the blown apart diagram with corresponding OE part numbers for cross referencing. The majority of stuff is no longer available, but it at least gets you into the world of finding alternative parts if needed...
  8. Mediocre s16g, so now what??

You will need a significant amount of supporting modifications to approach the 400whp mark with any of the turbos discussed in this thread. I am a big fan of the evo 16g and with a proper setup you can easily send one of these cars into the 11's on pump gas, but your fuel system is not large...
  9. Post your ETs race short route intercooler piping builds

I had a large core on 1459 and have a 4" thick huge ETS intercooler completely obstructing the bumper inlet in my 2g and neither car has ever had overheating issues, even on significantly warm days at the track. Having a good radiator core and fans that move a good amount of air that are...
  10. WTB non-sunroof sun visors

Anyone have a set laying around? Mine were turned into biohazards thanks to some furry friends and are likely beyond saving (mirrors are destroyed).
  11. 1459/2000

    Miss this car. Lookin good
  12. Part out!

PM'd you about the sun visors
  13. Rear knocking noise?

There are only so many things that rotate in the rear. Is it a constant thumping or is it sporadic? If you can get the car stable on 4 jackstands or have access to a lift you can put it in gear and have things rotate and see if you can track down exactly where the noise is coming from.
  14. FS: Replica Keyfobs - Updated FEB 2023!

Glad to see you're still here! Payment sent for two 91 style. Thanks!
  15. TD05 late spool

If you are in need of anything specific let me know. I'm happy to see if I can find affordable shipping options and get stuff to you.
  16. Roof Moldings? What can I use to Replace With

They are not specific to VR4s, so you may be able to source these from any 6th gen in a junkyard somewhere.
  17. Windshield and rear window trim

Does anyone have front/rear trim pieces that are in good cosmetic shape? Pretty much all of mine have small chips along the edges and it drives me bonkers to look at that.
  18. 87-89 taillights

Check out "Dsm Alley" on facebook. They have an 89 center that looks to be in good shape for $140 shipped
  19. FS: Replica Keyfobs - Updated FEB 2023!

Keep us posted. Now that I've got another one of these in the stable I'd love one of these as well.
  20. Brad Anderson's 1991 Galant VR-4 1459/2000

  21. 24th Annual DSM/EVO/GTR Shootout, Aug 19 - 21st 2016 Norwalk, Ohio

Confirmed. I should be out there tomorrow afternoon some time!
  22. 24th Annual DSM/EVO/GTR Shootout, Aug 19 - 21st 2016 Norwalk, Ohio

I'll be deciding some time today whether or not I'm going. 1459 will likely be the vehicle of choice, despite high temperature and humidity in the forecast.Maybe I'll see you guys there
  23. 8.5" wheel at +30 offset

It's actually a 2g power steering pump.Finding the right size belt was tricky. next step down from what's on there now is a big jump, and the next size up was fine at first but stretched to the point it would chirp even with the tension maxed out. The correct size was a bit of an odd-ball size...
  24. 8.5" wheel at +30 offset

Scroll up a little on this page and you'll see what the trailing arm clearance looks like. That was mocked up with washers as I didn't have the spacers yet, but it would be dangerously close or touching without a spacer in there. The 3 degrees of camber in the rear is natural camber gained...
  25. 8.5" wheel at +30 offset

So these wheels finally made it onto the car with new tires about a month ago but I'm horribly lazy at updating the world outside of Facebook and Instagram about any progress with my turds. For those of you trying to cram wheels/tires and wondering if they'll fit here were the final specs...
  26. 23rd Annual DSM/EVO/GTR Shootout August 7-9th 2015 Norwalk,Ohio

I will be there with 1459, and possibly the 2g as well.
  27. GSX_TC

Mike was not only nice enough to donate his minty fresh decommissioned rear bumper support to me, but had it brought to the shootout!Definitely a good guy in my book. Who else pays out of pocket for a photographer and organizes a bunch of Galant stuff at the shootout? Thanks again bud!
  28. 22nd Annual DSM/EVO/GTR Shootout August 15-17th 2014 Norwalk,Ohio

It was nice meeting everyone, and another thanks to Mike for setting everything up.1459, despite having a screechy power steering belt day 1, managed to make it out and back with 0 problems. Will definitely be making the trip back out next year. Possibly with the VR4 and the 2g as well.
  29. 22nd Annual DSM/EVO/GTR Shootout August 15-17th 2014 Norwalk,Ohio

Quoting GSTwithPSI: So, of the 30 guys on the list, I'm the only one driving a VR4 from the east coast? That can't be right...Any of you guys know if they allow pets?East coaster driving out. I'm north of Boston. Not sure we'd really be able to meet up anywhere outside of the...
  30. Your MPG/Highway Cruising Speed?

I'll measure it on my way to the shootout, but with mixed driving that's probably 75% highway my galant gets ridiculous gas mileage. It has to be right about or just north of 30 and I cruise at 70-75 mph.Td06 20g, 720's, stock cams, stock longblock, evo 3 manifold, 2.5" exhaust, dsmlink etc.
  31. 22nd Annual DSM/EVO/GTR Shootout August 15-17th 2014 Norwalk,Ohio

Quoting MellowVR4: I don't wanna put my self on the list yet, Still looking good for me to make the trip down their tho. 2 more weeks so we'll see.Two weeks is enough time to get a monumental amount of work done... What's potentially keeping you from going?
  32. 22nd Annual DSM/EVO/GTR Shootout August 15-17th 2014 Norwalk,Ohio

Quoting MellowVR4: These all cant be guys that are bringing their vr4 on the trip??1459 Is making the 1640 mile round trip
  33. FS: USDM Nile Black uncut bumper with fogs

Would anyone be willing to cart this thing to the shootout?
  34. Windshield corner trim

No, this isn't a thread about where can I get it or what's the part number, so put the pitch forks down! The VR4 I picked up had the windshield replaced, and when the trim was put back the top corner pieces don't sit flush, they stick up a bit (you could put a piece of paper under them from...
  35. Post up the worst hotside pictures you have encountered

This was the 14b on Jeremy's Vr4. Looks like something resurrected from the Titanic.
  36. New Owner of 1459/2000

The 86 belongs to my girlfriend. She also has a 3s swapped 91.The 1g is stock aside from some BC's and the wheels. Needs some paint but I kind of like the patina91 has BC's, Advan TCIII's and a few other goodies. Motor is a stock 3sgte from a 93 overseas.
  37. New Owner of 1459/2000

Figured I'd put together an introduction thread since I've been on the forums for a while (inactive and my user got deleted somewhere along the way).Name's Brad. I've been a DSM guy for a long time. Have had my 99 GSX since 2004 (and have put a whopping 35,000 miles on it in 10 years) and...
  38. VR4 Pictures Post Here !!

1459/2000 and 801/2000 meet for the first time
  39. My restoration and build of #1444/2000 - lots of pics and video!

That's because they're a rolling contradiction. They're sporty, but they're not. They're ugly, but they're good looking. They are, wait a minute is that an intercooler? What is that thing?
  40. FS: Hood Struts GVR4

I am in for a set when they are back in stock.
  41. The "Registry"

I am now the owner of 1459/2000 if you want to update. Nile Black with sunroof.
  42. FEELER: Cusco 6 point cage

Scene points. Extra weight to help you gain traction in the snow.
  43. 1226/2000

Quoting G: That's why I said a tiny bit. You can't be a slob. But they said I could be anything I wanted to be
  44. 1226/2000

The high tack stuff that comes in the tin with the brush attached to the lid is so, so messy and stains EVERYTHING it touches.
  45. New Member introduction

Look forward to seeing someone save another one!I'm not close but not too far. Lets get 1459/1460 together at some point. Black and white!
  46. New owner 631/1000

Towed it from way up in Maine to NY somewhere.I was likely picking this up next week when I had access to a trailer. Apparently it's soldThe car had no head on it, not sure if the d/s had been disconnected.
  47. Lets' get this picture on the opening page!

I love how people from coast to coast know who Kenny Kline is.
  48. How rare is a galant vr-4

That mentality, and the mentality that if it's a little rusty it should go to the crusher has killed a lot off that could have easily been saved by someone willing to invest a little time and money into them.
  49. (Resolved) Brick wall around 4000 RPM

I know it may seem strange, but make sure your CAS setting in DSMlink is correct. We had it looking for a standard signal instead of inverted in a dsm and it did pretty much the exact same thing.
