  2. E38a RS build thread

Been a long time but it is still moving ahead. I found another set of 17x8 +35 RPF1's for bugger all so I bought them, really the only thing stopping the car from rolling is I did not have tires. Since the last update I have-run the fuel feed -8 and fuel return -6 -made the fuel lines to and...

  5. E38a RS build thread

Thanks Ryan, good to hear this issue can be overcome easily. I have v-bands for the intercooler piping so i'll have to throw the master on and see where it all lands. How was the trip?
  6. Tubular crossmember

Bolted up the crossmember, sat the engine in and it fits great. I'm using avid racing 90A mounts so there wasn't alot of movement to get it all lined up but by just lifting and lowering the engine I got it all lined up without to much effort. The roll stopper on the crossmember is a solid mount.
  7. E38a RS build thread

HUGE WEEKEND! As parts started showing up I got my lazy ass back into the shed to finish all the bushings and ball joints up front. I stripped back both wheel wells up front, removed the minimal rust and sprayed them with a kill rust epoxy enamel. Over top of that I sprayed a stone shield...

Im in the process of installing the rears using the racefab kit, basically you cut off the old mounting points and weld on a new bracket and you get a template to modify the evo handbrake assembly to bolt to the trailing arm plus all the bolts and spacers needed. Msg Rob at racefab, easiest...

When I did mine I used a vice and some sockets to push the u joints out, it worked fine it was surprisingly easy I think the hardest bit was holding the shaft in place while torquing the nut to some ridiculous number.

  37. What is the best 272 cam out there?

Can't argue with that. My suggestion is to test your valve springs and if they are consistent at the 60 pound mark and you want to use the hks cams then use those springs, if not or if aftermarket springs are in the budget buy some new ones. Here is a write up from a machinist around here that...
