Savable. I would drain the gas tank, replace any SS hose, replace fuel filter, clean the injectors and do an oil change. Looks like a kevlar timing belt...so that should be fine. Just basic maintenance. Has good parts in there. Previous owner may have passed, gone to prison or who knows what.

My Galant has these D2s and they are the most comfortable coilover I have ever had. I can't remember the specs. However, my Galant having 800whp+, I usually switch out the rear to my AGX/600lb spring combo which is much stiffer since I want it really stiff in the rear when making high boost pulls.

Back flush it with a garden hose. As mentioned above, if there are no leaks in the cabin, it's good and can be easily fixed.

I have D2s on mine. They're very compliant for the street. No complaints. I do have a set of 600lb QA1 springs and AGXs that I swap in for heavy acceleration fun times as my car is heavy and high'ish HP.

Something is wrong with your clutch/flywheel combo. Time to take it apart and compare (measure) against the clutch that came with it. Make sure you are using an AWD flywheel etc.A gear rattle would not cause the clutch to make contact with the bellhousing.

I relocated mine to the rear years ago and (upgraded it to a GM unit.) It was the best mod I ever did! I literally have never touched it. I have pulled the engine several times with it attached. Hated replacing these damn alternators every year.

You really don't need a tool to install the rear main seal. Most important is to make sure you orient the seal metal retainer correctly. It has a small hole on one of the lips that should face down.

That is a blind hole IIRC. That is for bolting the cover to the block and typically uses the biggest bolt. The one that needs RTV looks like it has already been installed? It's early morning so I could be tripping.
