I saw a talon on local craigslist, getting parted out. The person is asking $1600 for a "stage 4" sheptrans. The longblock is removed from the car, so no test drive. My actual question is- is the trans worth this price(assuming he has approriate documentation)?

Fixed with new coolant temp sensor- one of the male spade plugs was detached, just looked ok. We good now.

Thanks for the additional info, Pot- i have a whole other driveshaft, tcase, and rear- the rear is an aws one, could i use that whole rear clip, without the aws lines, and other bits? I really just wanna drive it, dont matter if it turns at both ends!!

Just a question, for the guys who've seen the dark side of our cars... What all am i lookin at, as far as possible broken stuff? I know my xfer case leakd at the rear seal. Do i need to pull the cover off my rear diff now?

Aws is gone, its never had any trouble before. I'll thoroughly check bushings, and tightness everywhere else, as i did just get her back together after the trans replacement

Fellas, im havin a litle trouble figurin out whats up with 1848. The alignment seems off, it wants to jerk right n left over bumps, plus it looks like the front tires may be out at the top, (-camber?) Any insight? Anybody?

Oh holy poo! I had the wrong cable bracket on the trans!! The po had a dsm trans, and i got a gvr4 trans, but forgot to swap out the bracket with the trans!! Problem resolved.

Oh, how i wish i had a masters in gvr4 tech!! Im dying here. Just want my car back!!

I dont know about the fuel, it seems to be ok so far. Any idea, other than the reverse sender and cable adjustments, what could be causing my car to not go in 5th or reverse? Could it be having the wr ong slave cyl. or being low on trans fluid?
