  5. Car won't run right past three grand.. HELP?

please keep in mind that if what I described is wrong...you look at all the notches...and they look like they all line up. But they aren't really lined up.You can check if the crank notch is aligned correctly by pulling #1 plug...putting a wood dowel or something down in there so you can tell...
  6. Car won't run right past three grand.. HELP?

it likely started after a timing belt change?there is an thin alignment plate on the crank that can go on 2 ways. Basically you can flip it over or put it on the other way. That has the crank alignment not on it. you then use to check the alignment points on the crank to make sure they line...

  17. Another Tranny Code. W5M332MMZL

you measured the ratio you'd need to match for the rear diff. Not the actual final drive. you'd have to have measured how many revolutions the front diff axle stubs turned in relation to the input shaft and what ever gear you had it in...to get the "true" final drive (5.4 in the tranny with a...
  18. Another Tranny Code. W5M332MMZL

the transmission you have doesn't have a FINAL drive ratio of 3.9...does it? How did you determine it had a 3.9 final drive ratio? counting teeth on the front diff?thanks john
  19. Another Tranny Code. W5M332MMZL

  25. 1 count of knock pulls timing?

that's not pulled. thats "normal" for the factory ECU assuming you're "high" in the airflow range the ECU is seeing.the ECU is mapped to pull timing at the torque peak (around 4-4.5k) and then will bump timing back up as RPMs rise.I see nothing wrong with that timing curve.timing should...

He has to take all kinds of detail measurements to put it in solid works. If you print that out...its a hell of a lot easer to take those measurements than going out with a tape measure to the actual carIts just a picture from the shop manual anyways...that's where the key is I just have...

  39. Gearbox Ratios.

Hertz You also are dividing by the transfercase ratio in your spreadsheet to calculate speed...that's not quite right...15 inches + 195mm * 60% = about 22.5 inchesthats how I calculated it...John
  40. Gearbox Ratios.

I don't think so. The bearings are ball bearings in the NT and the turbo are tapered roller bearings.the gear stacks may be the same ratio...but I think the gears are thinner....not 100% sure on that.I didn't realize about the center diffs either till I took one apart
  41. Gearbox Ratios.

You can use the GGSX secondary...but not the primary.the primary is on the center diff. The center diff in the GGSX is VERY different from the center diff in the VR4. Not compatible at all.john
