  3. Does anybody know who has 651?

Hey i remember you, i went to your house and bought a transmission from you a few years back.
  4. looking for a source on a downpipe with cat delete included

I've got a Megan racing 3 inch 1g dsm downpipe in my gvr4 and it fit perfectly. I however bought the shorter one that doesn't delete the cat and bought a dummy test pipe with a built in resonator (I believe also Megan racing?). Anyway, everything fit great and all the hangers lined up as they...
  5. I'm a noob. 383/2000, pics and mod plans inside

You've made a lot of progress on this so far and everything is looking great. I almost feel like driving to Boise to see it. Have you put in the new seats yet?
  6. Engine Running Rough After Head Replacement

At idle it would not be a boost leak but a vacuum leak and would cause a lean condition. The negative pressure would be sucking extra air into the engine. If you were at a high load/ high boost then you would have positive pressure in the intake and air would be pushed out of the leaking spot...
  7. Engine Running Rough After Head Replacement

The replacement head is probably not the issue, I was just curious. You said the boost gauge is maxed out, is this an actual mechanical gauge or the digital one in the cluster? I thought I remembered reading that people with link can use that to read engine knock instead of boost. But anyway...
  8. Engine Running Rough After Head Replacement

Incorrect ignition timing can cause some crazy things to happen. I would try to set that before doing anything else. Also was the replacement head new or used? Was it checked out by a machine shop?
  9. Spatchana (aka Pot)

Pot has got good parts at a great price and he shipped very fast
  10. 1992 Kensington Grey Check in.

Finally more Idaho people! Even if you are on the other side of the state. I think we are up to three total now. Welcome, hope to see more from you and your car.
  11. FS: 554 and 619 are being parted out.

It's been almost 6 months since the op has logged into this site. Good luck getting any parts from him.
  12. I'm a noob. 383/2000, pics and mod plans inside

Looking good, maybe one of these days I'll head over there and check out your cars.
  13. Need help please!!! ECU issue or not?

If you end up needing to check your coolant temp sensor circuit I made this post a few months back that should help you out.Very last post click
  14. Emissions CEL

They will know that the computer hasn't run all the monitors yet and tell you to come back. You will have to complete an entire ob2 drive cycle for all the monitors to run before they will pass you on emissions. If you've got access to a scanner of some sort you can usually tell if the monitors...
  15. I'm a noob. 383/2000, pics and mod plans inside

Quoting Lostkoz: Lived in Idaho since 2000, on the outskirts of meridian, not technically "Boise"You have a build thread on here or any pics of the galant? No build thread for mine yet, I've got a built engine waiting to go in but keep having other projects pop up.If you're ever over...
  16. I'm a noob. 383/2000, pics and mod plans inside

Yep just on the outskirts. Been here since 98. How long have you been in Boise and what part?
  17. I'm a noob. 383/2000, pics and mod plans inside

About time I see another guy from idaho.
  18. Oil consumption to the extreme.

My base galant goes through about a quart every 500 miles due to valve stem seals. It doesn't smoke at idle or under load but right when I let off the gas pedal to shift it will puff some smoke. I never would have noticed if friends driving behind me hadn't said something.
  19. Vibration under acceleration

So I'm a little confused here. You said you thought a carrier bearing on the driveline was bad. Did you replace it? Did you ever pull the driveline and check for binding u joints with it out or did you just wiggle them while still in the car?
  20. Is black RTV ok to use on oil pan?

When using either black or grey just make sure the surface is clean and dry. Wipe it down with brake cleaner a few minutes before you apply the silicone. You shouldn't have any issues with black, I've even seen blue silicone work on a Honda oil pan with no issues.
  21. From Iceland in search for parts

I thought I remember hearing that the rear ball joints are the same part number as the front lowers. Can anybody verify this?
  22. Oil pan fix.

I did the jb weld and stud method on my dirt bike (yzf426) when the oil filter housing bolts stripped out. That was about three years ago now and it's held up pretty well so far, and i'm sure it rattles and vibrates more than most mitsubishi engines.
  23. Transmissions interchangeable

So I finally got around to swapping this out. My original transmission (f5m22) dumped about a half quart of oil on the shop floor this new years day. I had also lost 4th gear completely, 3rd was on its way out and the input bearing was extremely noisy. I had the new transmission sitting around...
  24. Swap front axles?

Doesn't the passenger side have male splines and the drivers side have female splines? It's been awhile since I've had them out.
  25. passanger side windows

When I replaced my broken wires in the drivers door I ended up removing the door completely. It only took an extra 15 minutes to get the door off and made it much easier to get to all of the broken wiring I had. Just make sure you've got a helper to hold your door for you.
  26. STOLEN

If they didn't use a flatbed or wheel dollies somebody owes you some shiny new parts.
  27. how do you delete power steering

Very true, if it's a daily driver car I wouldn't think about deleting power steering. That link was more of a deterrent to show how much work it really is to delete it properly. It's much easier to fix the leaks than to do all that work to delete it. But if you seriously want it gone that's the...
  28. how do you delete power steering

    clickTry reading through this
  29. lets see where you guys mounted your aftermarket gauges

I forgot about that discussion. I'm still a fan of the duct tape method.
  30. Sanity check regarding thermostats and cooling

Don't the Honda guys stack washers under their hoods for some reason?
  31. Bad Computer?

If the coolant temp sensor is suspect you need to go further than just swapping in a new sensor. Sometimes that works but with these cars the wiring for the sensor is very prone to failure. Checking the circuit is a fairly simple task that should not take more than about 20 minutes with a few...
  32. cut oil squirter holes?

I didn't know it had any oil ports in it. I just happen to have a set from my core engine out in the shop right now.
  33. cut oil squirter holes?

There is no oil port to the wrist pin. It all goes out this side port on the rod
  34. Clutch dragging

I had this issue with mine a few years ago. I replaced the master and slave cylinders. It was a little better but still hard to shift into gear. I ended up buying the 92 slave cylinder with the smaller bore and it's been perfect ever since.
  35. Vibration under acceleration

Under light load or coasting it doesn't shake, just under heavy throttle. Is that correct?Sounds like u joints or cv axles to me
  36. Cardone CV Drive Axles 66-3102 fitting issue

You might make sure the inner joint didn't separate inside the boot. Make sure it compresses easily when you push it.
  37. Performance Partout

Great parts and excellent communication, Nate does a great job as always. Thanks again
  38. rewire fuel pump?

I'm probably not going to do it, just curious of how it would be done. I did find someone using nylon bolts as a pass through. This looks like it could work alright. click
  39. rewire fuel pump?

Is anybody running the new larger wire all the way to the pump? I'm curious how to pass wiring through the top of the pump module.
  40. AllanL

Allan has great communication and sends payments fast. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him again.
  41. Exhaust resonator type choice

I did that to a cop car once at work, dodge charger. I positioned the pads under the frame rail and the arms caught the pinch weld before the pads contacted. I didn't notice until the car was already off the ground and figured it would be ok. It was.On another note, at my old job I saw...
  42. I'm i completely screwed??

I've had good luck with the welding method. I use a wire feed welder to get all those broken LS and LS based chevy exhaust manifold bolts out. I don't even bother drilling them out as it never seems to work for me.A stick welder would be harder than hell to do it with. Unless your friend has...
  43. WTB: dead 1G/GVR4 ECU

    You've got a pm
  44. minneSNOWta

Ended up buying more stuff from Andre. I've got no complaints, he does everything perfect. Thanks again
  45. New to gvr4

Between idaho falls and twin is one of the most boring drives you can possibly imagine. Unless you are into the sagebrush kind of thing.I might have to stop by on a trip to Boise to see your future gvr4. Keep in touch.
  46. New to gvr4

Last time I drove to twin it took about two hours. I actually went there to buy some parts from another member on here.Hopefully you don't have a ton of stuff to move if you end up moving in the winter. Nothing worse than moving all your stuff in -20° weather in the snow and ice.If...
  47. New to gvr4

Typically if you at 150 psi compression you should be good to go. Another thing to look at is the timing belt. Make sure it's not overdue and/or covered in oil. When are you planning on moving to twin? It might be nice to have another gvr4 guy close by
