No logger? DTCs? Old school way to pull codes!

It's already around here somewhere. Before I had a logger, I made one like that but used an LED instead of a buzzer.
 

Radio Shack sells a really nice 12 volt LED, with the resistor already in it, that works great for checking codes.

I think they have a red one too, but the best way is just go to the Radio Shack store and look at them. You want an LED that says its for 12 volts, with a resistor inside to drop the voltage.
 

I used this method back in the day... Its a bit tough to get the hang of but once you do it's invaluable...

The connector is in an awkward spot and I find listening to tones easier to count than the flashing light so I use the RS piezo buzzers.
