Why yes they are

Camaro 330mm front calipers
Braided brake lines all round
stock rear calipers
RDA drilled and slotted rotors
Metalaxed treated rotors

Hi All,

Thought I'd continue off this thread as my build thread with the AMG.
Currently undergoing some repairs.

I completed the auto swap to an F4a23 which worked well off boost. As soon as i drove into boost zone it broke something. I'm suspecting it is related to the torque convertor (Stator). This is purely because it has lost drive in all gears and there are no nasty noises coming from the box. Pure loss of drive.

So I'm currently in process of going F4A33.

In the meantime, while i prepare for the conversion to F4A33 I have some photos from my HDD that i would like to post up as progress notes....

Enjoy..

F4A23 Auto Donor Car - Galant GSR
The reason i went for the F4A23 was due to requiring all the auto related parts.
We don't have the luxury of having FWD DSM's here in Australia.

Sripping of the AMG after 2 years of not driving it.

Inspecting the clutch
3 years of daily use.

Some wear and tear on the diaphram and the clutch teeth.
I have since rebuilt this with sintered plates and more surface area on the teeth/splines to be used with the VR4 DOGBOX setup.

Mounts need swapping.
there are significant differences between the manual and auto mounts.
Mainly related to the gearbox mount (top) and block mounts (front and rear). No change in the timing belt side mount.

I didn't want it too rough as it will be more of a cruiser so i didn't go all 100% poly.

I think I'll probably end up removing and drilling some more holes to make it more comfortable to drive. I still get some vibration.

Auto installed.

Went 5 stud and brake upgrade while i was at it.
This brake setup used to be on the car. I had downgraded back to stock but then went back up again.

Auto shift cable needed a bit of work due to it going through the floor on the GGSR. The AMG had cables through the firewall. Modified to make it fit. Had to hack up the manual cable grommet to seal it properly.

EVO 7 BMC installed to replace the stock 1" cylinder.
Works well with the Camaro calipers (big piston).

Intake manifold gasket - return to stock stainless steel version. I noticed the Hondata one i had was cracked where the bolt holes were. Possibly causing a leak.

I also sold my 680cc injectors and went back to SARD 800CC dual spray type. I had these injectors in the past and they idled well so i decided to go back to them for fuel efficiency.

Autronic SMC EVO IV plug and play to SM4 EVO IX plug and play ECU upgrade - inside stock VR4 case.
I made an adaptor loom from the stock AMG to EVO9.

Connector change on the injectors (Bosch type to Denso type).
The Bosch ones were pretty brittle and cracked.

Everything going back together.

Also decided to fix the roof lining.
The old original one was getting a bit dirty.
New LED lights installed in this one. Overall matching the seats.

Also purchased an oil cooler and mounted it on the RHS (drivers side here in Aus).

The car made it to the Classic Japan 2016 show (not running though).
Photos below.

I set these goals to attend events only to push me to actually work on the car.

The next updates will be more up to date.

So far i have:
1. New set of wheels
2. New sound system in boot
3. Broken transmission
4. New upgrade Hella horns.
5. New gauge setup (o2 and boost)

Next on the list:
1. Transmission change over
2. Tuning
3. Register the car
4. Enjoy the car
5. Finish wiring the video screens and DVD changer.

Not much to go but only have weekends to play with it. With 2 little ones it gets hard to work on it efficiently.

Just a note, the Torque Converter plate for the f4a33 is a 4 bolt plate, so make sure you get that so you can run the stronger converter.
