throttle body question

There were 90 and 91-94 4g63 throttle bodies to say the least. Cyclones were an intake that the overseas GVR4 models were equipped with, and they sported a TB with a single vacuum nipple.

Search the site for vacuum diagram, or emissions vacuum hoses, and you will see many posts from both myself Click me for pics of Japanese vacuum diagram and USDM diagrams.

I believe, but don't quote me until someone backs me up, that all of this generation of turbo model had the same size throttle blade/diameter whether 90 or 91-94. It was NA or non turbo motors that had larger diameter throttle blades. I've seen many chaps down in AUS and NZ that run the NA TB's. Not much point if the rest of the system is supposed to neck down in stages and at lower power levels. I bet you GVR4 rally cars don't/didn't necessarily run extra large throttle blades/assemblies. Every intercooler system I have seen posted up reputable rally cars had smaller piping (sub 2.5") and the system necked down to it's smallest just before going into the motor. All in the promotion of velocity I assume.

What is your goal and why a different throttle body?

Well my goal eventually is ~500 whp but the reason I ask is because I have the original intake mani and throttle body on my car right now but I have a cyclone I want to install. I've had my car about a month and it came with a cyclone, with the vacuum cylinder. I just didn't know if I needed to find a throttle body for it.

Use your stock throttle body or update to a 1g NT throttle body to simplify things and eliminate a gasket.

It's also a good time to replace the seals in the TB to make sure everything is leak free.
