Seeing this build is making want to convert my RHD to LHD, Lol

Maybe next year...

Why would you do that? You get better weight distribution with a RHD.

I don't even think that's something that should even be a thought. You know because the Engine/trans/t-case sit ahead of the front axles...

With a driver sitting in the drivers seat of the RHD car, it will offset the extra weight of the engine on the left hand side of the car.

Do you honestly think it's going to make any noticeable difference? I don't think it will for a DD/weekend warrior. I ain't saying I will ever swap to LHD. Hell my brother has been saying he's gonna do his Evo for the past 6 years.

It's the same argument as sunroof vs non sun roof. some say yes, difference, others say no.

I imagine that you'd have to be a pretty serious GVR4 racer to see any benefits from being RHD over LHD, and if you are a serious racer, you can probably figure out how to set up a LHD to handle just fine. Luckily, I don't have to worry about any of that as mine will just be a clean GVR4 that somebody else will enjoy when it's done. Hopefully that is sooner than later because I want to work on other stuff.

Sooooo close! I have spark and fuel now, but somebody before me hit the fuel line with a cut off wheel in two different spots, which led me to spraying fuel everywhere. The fuel line was also damaged under the car in one spot. Ugh. I then removed the entire fuel line from front to back and threw it in the trash because it was crap.

I bought 25 feet of new steel fuel line and started making a whole new fuel line setup. The rear half is done, the front half is not touched yet. Overall, it sucks. I would not recommend this job to a friend. Luckily, when complete, the car should start in naturally aspirated mode, since I don't have a turbo for it yet. Maybe next weekend...

Thanks for the kind words! If I had a better intercooler, I would definitely use it, but this one is actually in really good shape, so I'm going to use it for now.

You have to bake the cake before putting the icing on it.

Lots of work ahead, but the end is in sight!

Great job so far. You must be itching to shake it down on the streets soon.

Get her running and work on the extras a little later.

You can get a new intercooler setup before the big heat comes back, and never have to know what

a heat soaked mini-Mitsu intercooler performs like.

I'd love a new intercooler, but I don't want to pay for it. As you can imagine, all of these little items are adding up to thousands of dollars.

UPDATE:

- Install MAF in proper location (Sandblast? Paint?)
- Install subframe parts
- Install radiator
- Install radiator fans? (Find? Sandblast? Paint?)
- Install radiator hoses
- Install proper motor mount bolts
- Install turbo
- Install turbo feed
- Install turbo oil drain tube
- Fill trans with fluid
- Install front axles

- *DONE Install heater hoses
- *DONE Eat Donuts
- *DONE Drink Coffee
- *DONE Wash out intercooler hoses
- *DONE Install intercooler hoses
- *DONE Install brake rotors, pads, and hoses
- *DONE Install brake master cylinder
- *DONE Install clutch master cylinder
- *DONE Install slave cylinder & line
- *SORT OF DONE Bleed clutch / brakes
- *DONE Install transfer case
- *DONE Install drive shaft
- *DONE Fix shifter cables & shifter boot

My current problem is that there isn't fluid going to the rear brakes. The non-abs proportioning valve is preventing it for some reason. Anybody have any thoughts?

Reverse these two. Teehee.

Quote:

- Fill trans with fluid
- Install front axles

Pulling a vacuum on the rear may work or just slowly pump and holding the brake pedal to the floor, and bring it back as slow as humanly possible.
There is not enough fluid in the system yet, so you might not be getting the propper effect at the pedal nor the rear brake lines.
Small cylinder you are actually pushing fluid into the system with, in between the fluid slowly moving by itself too.
100% sure you don't have lines hooked up wrong? Just a thought, I know I get lost with so many little details!

It's becoming so nice, that I'm tempted to keep it! Under the hood of this car is looking so sweet right now, and I can drive it around my yard! I hope to have it on the road legally in a month or so. It won't be perfect, but should be drivable.

Sandblasted and painted. Stock MAF FTW.

Engine bay needs a good cleaning, more parts, & I need to install my fancy valve cover.

Thank you! Me too! I can't wait to wash and wax the whole thing. I haven't washed it yet, and I've owned it for ~ 2 years. Luckily, it has been indoors the entire time.

Here is a short to do list:
- Fill transfer case
- get a battery that fits
- get a N/T throttle cable
- get a AN turbo drain tube
- make a new intake pipe
- swap valve cover to nice one
- vacuum, wash, wax
- swap any existing gross hardware to new stuff.
- install headlights and bumper
- register & drive it!
- put for sale sign in the window!
