Hey guys, I have a 2g Talon, I have a three gauge pod, and only 2 functional gauges (one just sitting filling the empty pod) but I want to install a pyrometer! I have two questions! What one should I get? And where exactly should I drill and tap the hole for it?

Pyrometers are invaluable. I run four of them. I do not recommend drilling and tapping as no manifold is thick enough for that to last. Have the proper bung welded on and use the ferrule setup like it was meant to be. Any cylinder will be fine as long as it is 2-4" from the exhaust port. Most dsm guys use the number one cylinder. I use all four. Much easier to pinpoint issues.

That's where I was headed. If your only using 1 then a wideband would be a better choice IMO. I agree having 4 is the best if you need/want to run 4. Just trying to give other options and find out the reason behind why he wants a pyrometer.

He just wants to fill an open gauge hole. I doubt the guy is running sub 10sec quarter miles and needs four probes. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rofl.gif

Pick a more useful gauge for your needs, IMO.
