Update on 431 !! This will likely be the first year since 2010 when I bought 431 that it will not make any passes at the track! As disappointed as I am especially since the car made 9sec passes the last 4 years this year has been about family not racing !

As for 431 - It's safely parked/stored in a spray booth ! The plan is to start building the car in the next few weeks and thru the winter as time permits.

As always many thanks to Nate Crisman for helping out with the car!!!!
please check out his new site for performance and stock parts at *** www.performancepartout.com

What's in store for 2016 :

Motor upgrade / changes :
1. 2.3 stocker filled block with 10.5:1 compression
2. Head has also been modified for cooling efficiency.
3. Custom head gasket
4. New intake manifold with dual fuel rails
5. Mechanical fuel pump
6. All new injectors
7. Forward facing header
7. Larger ice box and pump
8. New straight cut gears in transmission- taller gear in trans (~800rpm drop thru traps )
9. Transfer case brace
10. Dss front axles
11. 3000gt rear with tubular cross members
12. New tubular front cross member and control arms

There are a ton of other little parts that have also been upgraded and changed ! Including a 1993 front bumper without the fogs that's still in the process of being painted! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif

I think next year will likely be the last year of racing 431 - been contemplating different chassis for years now! I do have a strong offer on the car an may consider selling it once we hit that 8s barrier !

As for the upgrades - as you can see a lot of them have to do with driveline and some weight reduction !! Looking to see a 1.2x in the 60ft out of the car next year !!

Here are some pictures of parts and such waiting to be thrown into the car:

Everything on the 3000gt rear is just a bit larger - the case is larger and the rear sits back about 1" in order not to modify the dss driveshaft that's in the car. Not a bolt in by any means - but not bad to make fit /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The 5th picture is the mechanical fuel pump bracket that mounts the fuel pump to the head and is driven by the cam gear. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif

Sweet. Dude, it will be sad to see that car go to someone else and REALLY bittersweet to see other guys with more time on their hands undoubtedly go faster with it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bawling.gif

In the mean time...Im motivated. Lets get that thing back to the track and KICK SOME ASS. The way things are going Im going to have to take over the driving duties just for the weight loss.

Awesome build plan Nelson! Can't wait to see the thing back together laying down some serious power. I'll be following the rear end swap as well. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif
