What is the trunk VR-4 emblem surface made of?

Just wondering if I should paint it too since I painted the rest of my emblems and they look great. Is it any different than say the "Galant" trunk emblem?

Can I polish it, or will chrome come peeling off?

it's plastic.

 

I attempted to polish mine with some BRASSO and it didn't work at all.

I was considering taking mine of and trying to find a VINYL sticker or something.

I took off my GALANT badge and the DOHC badge as well and found a sticker on eBay that I might use.

the reason it wont work is because the chrome on the badges is on plastic.

 

I am just gonna sand it and repaint it a different color.

That's even if I keep it.
