Hey guys. Has anyone disconnected the rear steering AND LEFT IT IN PLACE? Did you just cap off/plug the lines and everything was ok?

If it wasn't connected to the rear diff I would just remove the whole thing.

Thanks,
Ed

This should be in newbies.

Yes you can just block the lines to the rear & end up with the resulting "Passive toe" many have done it. I would do this only as a stop gap myself & look to remove the whole system if you have no plans on fixing it.

switch to a DSM steering rack & P/S reservoir. then remove the lines/pump/rear rack. you can use a freeze plug to block the pump hole in the diff housing or swap to a four bolt w/out this provision. there are a couple in the for sale section right now. at this point you have the option of removing Passive toe as well by either welding up the trailing arms, check v-faq for a write up on this, or there is a passive toe eliminator kit out there as well.

To search the site try (+rear +steering +removal)
